Can I keep on using Logos 6 or will I have to choose Logos 7?

I have used Logos from the beginning floppy disk days. However, at this stage in my life (nearly 80) and ministry I find Logos 6 meeting all my study, and ministry leadership needs. (Small church in a retirement community)
Will I ultimately have to buy Logos 7 because Logos 6 support will be terminated? I realize that Logos/Faithlife is a business and must continue innovating to survive but hope my access to Logos 6 will not cease.

While Logos 6 support will eventually come to an end you will be able to get the free Logos 7 engine when it becomes available (planned for February 2017). This would ensure you were still running a supported configuration so should be fine.
So you would be using Logos 6 but your user experience would be basically unchanged - with maybe a few free features as part of the core engine.

The following is my understanding:
1. Your Logos 6 will not suddenly quit working, barring a technical issue on your computer. End of support (which will come) simply means that no further updates or patches to the Logos 6 software will be released.
2. There will be a free version of the Logos 7 software released in February. It will not provide any of the new features of Logos 7, but it will continue to receive patches as long as Logos 7 is supported. You will keep all the feature of Logos 6 that you already have.
Think of it this way. There are three parts to Logos:
A. The software. This is the free engine that is always released by itself with every version, usually a short while after the other parts.
B. The features. In Logos 7, these are called Feature Sets. They include new features in Logos 7, and features from previous versions for those who haven't bought them before.
C. The resources. Books, libraries; these are the texts that you can read, reference, etc. with the Logos software and use with the Logos features. These remain yours once bought, and remain accessible as long as you have the software.
What has been released as "Logos 7" right now is B. and C. As mentioned, the release of A. as a separate download is scheduled for February.
So your least expensive option is to get the free software engine when it comes out in February. You'll keep everything you have now in Logos 6, and have current software support. Until then, Logos 6 is still fully supported.

Free Support => https://www.logos.com/support/free-support shows Logos 6 is in Maintenance so no more releases are planned for Logos 6. For critical bug(s) causing crash(es), Faithlife can publish a service release.
Sometime in the future anticipate Logos 6 changing to Unsupported that will probably not have any further updates plus calls to Technical Support being referred to forum discussions (since a number of forum participants have longish memories about installing and using various versions of Logos and Verbum).

That came quicker than I expected. I didn't play close attention to the status of 5 when 6 was released, though.
Either way, come February, the free core engine for Logos 7 will be available, and that will be the fully supported version of the software.
