Dear Bob and Logos:
For whatever its worth:
I received the usual e-mail meeting me something was going on with Logos and, aha- Logos 7!
Thus, I immediatly started the quest to what whats new and exciting and, if the new software costs anything, if so, how much.
Well, didn't take long before i was completely baffled , confused and irritated- again.
Thats right, again. I remembered going through this with Logos six, along with a great many others, so, looking to the forums, i could see I was not alone and, it again, seemed pretty widespread.
On a whim i decided to look at Logos 6 upgrade period and, I was correct, basically the same confusion.
So, I called sales and got an upgrade. I literally have no idea if its the right upgrade for me, a good deal or bad deal, if I'm going to regret it or be pleased- basically, there simply isn't any way for me to have a sense of satisfaction about my purchase because I have no idea what I could have chosen vs what I did choose.
Sales staff was very kind and understanding- they too are aware of the confusion and frustration of customers.
All this to say- It really doesn't have to be this hard. Its easier to know what your doing buying a home, a car, a computer, planning to have a child, sign up for college !
I finally accepted Logos 6 was never going to load correctly and learned to live with it as everything finally stabilized . I don't think I have been to these forums in close to two years, well over a year anyway. I purchase very little in resources anymore because, honestly, its just too difficult. When I do, I just call sales to find out if its even possible to get what I want and avoid all the confusion.
Your staff does do a good job of letter me know when there is a special along the lines of things I buy and, when its "hassle free" I sometimes add a few resources.
The point of this is simple- I don't shop Logos anymore because its just far to much trouble , too confusing.
Surely to goodness a company that writes software can find a way to present upgrades/new software /resources that doesn't cause confusion, worse, leave us wondering what in the world we bought and if its what we really wanted/needed.
I am about to download /install whatever it is I bought- I guess the idea is for me to be surprised- grin.
Thanks again to the Logos staff for their help- man, shouldn't it be easier for them as well?
Blessings,
Rusty+
