... because it doesn't contain a full feature set, as suggested, including the two I really want, sadly, including the Bible Browser Tool.

Is Logos hoping people will blindly upgrade without checking? Uhuh. If you want my money, just be straightforward and call it the "Advanced Feature Set" or something.

So after being a Logos user for over a decade, there isn't enough for the money this time round (e.g. if the headline features are new layouts and sermon writing tools), and compounded by unfortunately misleading product names.

So this is the first time I won't be upgrading unless someone can convince me otherwise ... Logos 6 still working just fine

Especially confusing as by default users are offered the Almost-Full Feature Set instead of Now, which is currently the only way to actually get the Full Feature Set....

While we're suggesting renaming feature sets, perhaps the "Logos Cloud Feature Set" could be renamed the "Logos Ultimate Feature Set". Then we could have the Starter Feature Set, the Advanced Feature Set, and the Ultimate Feature Set; and Faithlife could market Now and Cloud as containing the Ultimate Feature Set, the only ways to have access to the Ultimate Feature Set, etc.

I think Starter/Advanced/Ultimate is more easily understood than Starter/Full/Cloud, and "Ultimate" would seem to be more a marketable name than "Cloud"...

But perhaps I'm wrong, and/or crazy? [:)]

I agree the names aren't perfect. We wrestled with this internally. We landed where we did for two reasons:

"Full Feature Set" is limited by "Logos 7." Without that modifier, it would be a blatant error. With it, it's at least explainable and justifiable, though not immediately obvious. The Logos 7 Full Feature Set includes all of the features that are a part of any Logos 7 product. Now, there are additional features, but they aren't part of any Logos 7 product. They're either Logos 8 product features, released early to Logos Now members. Or they're subscription-exclusive features that won't be part of the Logos 8 Full Feature Set either. In either case, they're not technically Logos 7 product features.
The feature set comparison chart removes all ambiguity about what's included in each of the three feature set levels. Additionally, all the Logos 7 product features are labeled on the features page. And all of those come in the Logos 7 Full Feature Set.

Phil, the reasons you gave for the name chosen certainly make sense. But I think Faithlife may be creating confusion as to what is included in the Full Feature set by some of its forum posts. E.g. the Bible Browser was one of the main reasons I was interested in the L7 Full Feature set and my introduction to the feature came by way of the Logos 7 forum thread https://community.logos.com/forums/t/129323.aspx started by a Faithlife employee. It turns out the Bible Browser is not part of the Logos 7 Full Feature set--it requires Logos Now, yet the thread was placed in the Logos 7 forum vs. the Logos Now forum and as far as I have been able to determine, there's absolutely no mention in the thread that this feature requires a Logos Now membership.

I realize Faithlife doesn't control the forum where a customer starts a thread, but if Faithlife employees start threads about features that require Logos Now, it seems like the Logos Now forum is the proper place for such threads. And if a Faithlife employee responds to a thread in the Logos 7 forum that really belongs in the Logos Now forum, it would be helpful if they would move the thread, or at least make note in the response that the thread belongs in the Logos Now forum because it is not actually a Logos 7 feature--it's a Logos Now feature.

I think of Microsoft Office and Office 365. No doubt Office 365 will be upgraded past what Office 2016 is. But when I switched from Office 365 to Office 2016 (I like to own, rather than rent), they were the same product.

Logos Now will eventually be more than Logos FFS, but FFS shouldn't start with less right from the word "Go." It's this confusion which makes me feel like I'll stick with Starter tools and wait and see on FFS to make sure I don't buy one and find out I get less than I thought.

Assuming Now is indeed needed by Logos, it's primary problem is whether a customer 'needs' it. Right now, it's a rent/buy quandary, plus a Las Vegas 'access to new features' annual bet.

'Now' absolutely needs a killer benefit. Like Amazon Prime, free fast shipping. Customers can easily measure the benefit.

Bible Browser is the first 'read it and weep' benefit ... want it? Subscribe. Else weep.
