Thanks Logos and Bob

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to all who work at Logos - especially those who've helped me the last few weeks/days.

I won't go into all the details, but the long and short of it is the company has been gracious and that has resulted in a lot of good will on my part.

I know roll outs are a time of grumbling, so it seems to me it would be a good time to have a thanks thread.

The personality of Faithlife (from sales to customer service to tech support to management to ceo) is unique in the world of business, it is a pleasure to communicate with anyone there (my experience). There is a denominational term floating around called Baptistcostal (self explanatory). Although Faithlife IS a business, I see them as BisinessMinistry, as their business practice and personality overflows into that of a ministry. They do minister to my needs of Bible Study. Yes, there are a few glitches here and there with the software and apps as it moves from one level to the next, but it's never a very big deal that some patience and understanding won't take care of. I'll always support Faithlife, which means that I am thankful for past, current, and most likely future experiences (personalities don't often change drastically). [:)]

Rollouts for me are exciting and fun. Watching the flurry of activity is amusing and giving the process a few days till the dust settles clears the air and everything is reasonably easy to understand.

This is an acquired skill, however. For me it was learned traveling by train in Asia. I buy a ticket (a daunting task in itself--that is not part of the forthcoming analogy). Then, when attendants open the gates as early as possible (sometimes a few minutes too early), I have 2 choices.

1. Fuss, scream, push, shove and holler and try to be first on the train and howl when people step on me or I find someone in my seat (only to find I am on the wrong car) and make a general nuisance of myself. Pickpockets grab, smokers fume, sweat pours, tempers flare.

2. Sit in my chair (if I can find one) and relax. Enjoy the milieu as much as possible. Relax till the wild scurry is over knowing my ticket is good (hopefully) and my seat will be empty when I get there (if I ask someone to move).

I hope the analogy is analogical enough to make sense, but all that to say, relax, enjoy each day, take it as it comes, allow time to figure out the complexity, which probably isn't all that complex, give the process a little time, and enjoy the journey.

I did what was recently unthinkable to me: I joined Logos Now. There were several reasons, but underlying it was a renewed confidence in Bob and Faithlife.

I'm thankful for you not starting with a whine, a complaint and telling the whole world how disappointed you are on FL/Logos for not meeting your demands and then changing your mind and telling how great Logos is just because you manage to squeeze a goodie out of them. Your post shows sincerity not hypocrisy, because you are understanding of the fact that FL is not perfect and that they do make mistakes and that they are currently under pressure due to the new release of their product. I'm thankful because you chose not to take advantage of them!

No freebie either, just some generosity of unwritten policy that I stumbled into. It wasn't communicated to me either. Its just one of those little things that help me remember they really do have our best interest at heart.

I also say thanks, and I come from a culture (Scandinavia) where we don't say thanks without a good reason. I am generally happy for the useful tool and it has already the most important resources for me. There are also some good prospects: vector maps and Hebrew audio.

Happy customers tend to slow down the software development progress. In this case I don't mind, because Logos already has so many features that I don't have time to use them all. Usability development and tagging maintenance might be the most important activities I look forward to.
