Location of files

With Logos v3 I kept my resources on a drive E.

Now I have the impression a large number of files are stored on drive C. I am not sure if that includes the resources. The index file (> 1 Gb) is there. 

- Is there any way to determine where these files are stored (and will that imply re-installing the software?

- Is there any way to add the other resources I had in Libronix (i.e. a different "home page"), or do I have to keep v3 for that?

In Logos4 all the resources are stored on the same drive as the program, there is no way to change this, nor can the program be relocated after being installed. If you want to move the resources you'll have to uninstall L4 and then reinstall the to a different drive.

The program and the resources are located in your user directory in Windows. For Windows 7 this will be C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Logos4. The AppData folder is hidden, so you'll have to be able to view hidden files to find it and navigate to the Logos4 subfolder.

The resources themselves are located at C:\Users\[name]\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\[random numbers]\ResourceManager\Resources\

There has been much discussion about how this does or doesn't conform to Windows standards for software installation, as well as frustration about not being able to relocate resources to a different drive. So far Logos does not indicate any interest in changing these defaults, nor giving us the ability to have a non-standard installation.

L4 should pick up your L3 resources automatically, if it doesn't it's a bug (assumes you're using L4 with the same Logos ID and password you used in L3). However, you should know that L4 does not yet have the ability to read PBB files. See what's Missing below for other things Logos is still working on.

If there are regular resources that L4 did not pick up, you could also use the scan command from the L4 command bar. Just type scan [resource path] and it should pick up any missing resources.

Note: L4 and L3 will differ in the number of resources listed, and L4 does not yet have a bibliography report to compare this very easily. L4 combines some multi-volume works into one work, and some L3 addins are now resources in L4. The numbers won't equal each other, even when the resources and functionality are identical.
