I must say, I'm surprised (somewhat) that Logos refuses to allow us to choose colours of our choice. Is it that difficult to actually have the program to do that when free Bible software programs are doing that. What shall I say, "Just saying?"
Well, to begin, there are no 'colours' south of your border. You have to turn in your 'u' if you cross the border at Logosland.
Second, colours and coolity don't mix. There was a day when Cadalacs had interesting colors. That was before cool.
Lastly, the Logos UI-y guy went crazy with an orange sync button. The disaster was so pervasive, and persuasive; lesson learned.
Added: Just coincidentally, I'm reading the Social History of Hebrew:
Spelling can also have an ideological component. As an example, it is worth recalling Noah Webster’s justification for spelling reform in American English in 1789: “As an independent nation, our honor requires us to have a system of our own, in language as well as government.” Somehow the spelling honor, as against the British honour, would help achieve a sense of national identity! Ironically, the differences in American and British spelling of words like center/ centre or color/ colour tell us very little about the differences in pronunciation. We can spell words like schedule or about exactly the same, but pronounce them quite differently.
No "colours" south of our border and no "colors" north or your border! :-)
From what I'm gathering in your post, I think it all means "Logos is not going to consider colours" or even "colors." The UI-guy flipped and the rest are on the edge of hurling themselves out in front of a parked bus, so yes!!! There will be no consideration of such a thing. Thank you for the most interesting reply!
Logos wiki => Night Mode has colorful modifications.
Logos User Voice has five "night reading" suggestions:
38 Votes => black background with Faithlife reference to Night Mode wiki page
37 Votes => Night Mode for PC/Mac
26 Votes => Add Themes to personalize colors/colours and improve readability
7 Votes => Place More Emphasis on Updates Which Reduce Eye Strain and Increase Eye Comfort
7 Votes => Night Theme Absolutely Indispensable that was declined with suggestion to vote for Night Mode for PC/Mac
Every Logos user has 10 votes with a maximum of three for one suggestion.
Thankful for Negative Screen on Windows (added win+alt+F12 mode for normal color).
Keep Smiling [:)]
Interesting but as to how, from where I sit, it would take a computer tech to do that. What I'm saying is that it would be nice to see a program like Logos to make it easy to switch colors as we do in, e.g. Windows.
Thanks so much for the reply.
I'm assuming hear that you were referring to the user interface, and a desire to move from the traditional pale gray color scheme to something a little more exciting? If that's what you're trying to say, I completely agree. Even if we are not allowed to choose our own custom color, it would be nice if there were a couple of color schemes, or skins, that we could choose from. WORDsearch, which is a far less superior product, allows one to change the color scheme of the user interface, so one would think that Logos, much more advanced in every aspect, would allow such. I wouldn't think it would be that much of a big deal to give us a couple of color varieties to choose from.
You assumed correctly Myke. I wholly concur.
Setting aside the manliness of blues/greys (yes, the favorite pastor uniform ... I think Paul wore blue coat, grey slacks too), I wish users could impact the mousable text ... I really have to wheel out the text-color spectrometer and aim it at my PC screen to see what has a popup/footnote.
Agreed because I've yet to see any woman wear blues / greys or any other colour for that matter!?! :-}
