Why don't books default to the proper note file? If I am reading in Book A and highlight something, it puts the highlight in Book B. Is there a way to fix this so that highlights go to the proper place?

Also, is there a way to have a notes files be just a text file? I use Word for exegetical notes on books. I typically copy the text into word and then begin taking notes in that Word file. Is there a way to do that in Logos?

You can control which Notes file highlights go at the Palette level as shown below. Does this give you what you need?

You can copy the biblical text into a Notes file and then start writing notes there. But I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for. Please clarify / expand a little more.

...because you aren't using the right behavior. There are three:

Pallete specific (this is the default behavior). The highlight note goes into a document named for the highlighting palette.
Resource specific. The highlight note goes into a document named for the resource.
Last Used. The highlight note goes into the last used note document.

The behavior is changed in each palette's settings menu (right click pallet name).

I don't quite follow, but Logos is not a word processor. Depending upon your needs, continuing to use Word and importing as a personal book might be best.

Thanks. The "resource-specific note" setting was not one I was familiar with.

The other question deals with the ease of taking note. The logos note files are all setup in boxes it looks like rather than a page(s) of information such as Word. I want the Word file kind of set up rather than the individual notes that you can't read without opening them (unless there is something I don't know). I want to be able to scroll through and see everything at a glance.

It looks like Alabama24's suggesting of continuing to use Word might be the best.
