What is the best cheapest way to simply try Logos 7.0?

I have Baptist Silver 6.x and wonder...what is the best cheapest way to just TRY Logos 7.x.

To date, I cannot find or locate a reason to upgrade.

Is it faster and easier to search for example?

Bless anyone in the field who uses Logos for sermon prep or regular pastoral ministry who can give me one single solitary reason why a bare bones upgrade of some kind is worth it please. 6.0 really that vastly different from 7.0 in your humble opinion...does it even look different?

Should I wait and pray they redevelop Chaplain's Library maybe first? Think practical hands on not original language nuance in your replies please.

Dear all,

In my opinion the best way to test Logos 7 for free (without returning back Logos Now) is try Logos Cloud one month for free.

I signed for Logos cloud Plus and I found that with my library, even upgrading to Bronze or Silver Standard I will not take big adventage of the new features in the Full Feature Set, so I will stay in the Starter package for now.

Just for clarification. I was especially interested in the Confessional Documents, Systematic Theology and Biblical Theology datasets. I should go minimum to Platinum to take adventage of these datasets, which I can afford now.

I´m aware of it, but the original question is the cheapest way to try Logos 7. When subscribing to Logos Cloud you have access to all new Logos 7 features. In my case I tried Logos Cloud Plus to have an idea of the benefit for me to upgrade to L7 Silver Standard, although there are not exactly the same resources in Logos Cloud Plus and L7 Silver Standard. I downloaded 875 new resources and after examining them, I arrived to the conclusion posted before.

I´m also completely aware that after cancelling the susbscription all these resources will be removed from my library as they have a temporary license. But again, I had the oportunity to check L7 new features plus some resources I could get by upgrading to a superior package. Hope now it´s clear...

Also note that Faithlife is still ofering one month free trial for Logos Cloud and not for Logos Now.

Unless I'm very confused, that can't be the Mobile Ed course AR151 - the product page says it's 4 hours but the Archaeology and Jesus series on FaithlifeTV is made up of four programs of 20+ minutes long. I watched them all and I think they're excellent but if that's all I'm getting for a $90.00 course, I might as cancel my pre-order right now. Maybe these videos are snippets of the AR151 course but I can't believe that is all.

Also, how does this have anything to do with Logos Now? I thought FaithlifeTV and Logos Now were totally separate items? Aren't you paying a separate fee for FaithlifeTV?

This course is not listed on the Logos members page. It still shows as NT156. I think Lynden is mixing up two separate things that may have some overlap in content but are not the exact same thing.

Any confusion may be because of how your question was asked--which was fine, but could be answered various ways.

1. There is little point in trying the Logos 7.X engine. Not much to see there.

2. Unless your question includes Logos 7.x release features and datasets and /or base packages included in the new Logos releases. Then all kinds of interesting questions arise, which are well-answered above.

I believe that the best way to try L7 without getting into base packages and such, is to subscribe to Logos Now (which will give you all of the features), and try it for a couple of weeks (that should be long enough to determine if L7 is worth it or not). I was going to say do the monthly Logos Now with the free 1st month, but that is no longer offered.

EDIT: There is also the Full Feature Set (which may be a better way to try). Logos Now will include other features not specifically included in L7.
