Horrors - My Windows I5 Surface Pro (original) overheated and stopped!

Anyone using Logos and simultaneously wirelessly "casting" a video on their Windows Surface Pro machine to their TV ever hear the fan going constantly and then the video stops, a white oversized thermometer appears briefly on the Surface screen, and then the Surface Pro shuts down?

Are there any windows tablets that can run Logos and cast a video wirelessly to a tv without overheating...seriously?!!! I can only imagine I am frying my battery. I cannot image spending 1K or more for a hardware upgrade that still is a handwarmer or egg fryer.

What windows tablets do any of you use - to run Logos - that you trust NOT to overheat!

p.s. running a fan pointed toward the back of my Surface tablet constantly on my desk is one thing but its not always practical to carry one around say in bed or into my living room when I am more mobile. Any ideas or suggestions? I hear the liquid cooled fanless tablets still get hot too.

One solution above maybe....silly I need to do this but perhaps it will work.

The Cooling system is likely clogged with dust, which is a common computer issue. If you feel confident, you can try blowing it out yourself using canned air. Otherwise, take it to a trusted repairman and have them clean it all out for you.

The original Surface Pro (and maybe subsequent iterations) probably work best outdoors in Alaska.

Oh well. How far we have come technologically and yet how little progress we have made...

What windows tablets do any of you use - to run Logos - that you trust NOT to overheat!

Apart from running Logos on a desktop PC, I also run it on a 10 inch tablet. An ASUS EP121 which contains an i5 processor, 4GB RAM and a single Samsung 250GB SSD 850 WVO mSATA for storage. This solid state drive is one I inserted to replace the inadequate SSD that came with the unit. I am also running Windows 10. The fans seem to efficiently address the heat and I've had no problem with excess temperatures.

The down side of this tablet:

there are better (and more recent) touch screen tablets on the market; and
battery life is woeful (about 2 hours) so I mostly keep it plugged in.

One caveat - I've run several programs at the same time as Logos including watching video - but I have not actually 'cast' a video from this unit. The upside is that having an i5 process and solid state drive means that it is reasonably effective in running Logos. I'm not a computer or IT "technie" but hope these comments help. Keep well Paul
