Just got L7 Platinum, But..

Ok I had L7 Gold, and upped it to Platinum for the Hermeneia for the cost of $350.40 because of my Academic discount.

But I am asking myself this question last year I got the full WBC academic commentary; so do I really need two academic commentaries?

I looked at the cost saving of getting Hermeneia which were very good because if I had to buy it for the reg $1,699.00 price, I never would think about it.

In an academic setting, yes.

If I was setting a biblical studies paper, I'd expect the student to use at least six different academic commentaries.

Herm either duplicates Word on a verse discussion, or operates opposite ... there seems little middle ground. Also Herm is OT-thin. But major value in non-canon (protestant). It'd have Herm just for the non-canon, especially if I were Catholic (but just guessing).

Denise, if I were looking for non-intersecting commentaries within Logos, which would you recommend? I tend to prefer a little more diversity in my library.

Denise I'm Reformed & Southern Baptist, I have very few Catholic resources by choice.

For me the main reason to get L7 was the ACCS, Hermeneia that I would not pay for otherwise due to cost. So that is why I was questioning if we really needed to good Academic commentaries.

Lee ... I'm on the fundementalist side of the house, but some protestants get queasy on the late 2nd Temple volumes, and early apostolic fathers. I value Herm for both, along with its Q volume. Herm on the regular canon, as I said, seems to duplicate Word, or go off tangent.

Nick, not sure your question. For example, Continental and JPS won't duplicate Word, and rarely Herm. (Talking at verse level.) The new ICC volumes similarly stand alone, and good depth.
