Is it possible to collect together all notes with a particular tag?

I would like to collect all my notes (preferably from all documents) that have been tagged with a particular topic and then read through them in one place. Like sorting a set of index cards into different piles, depending on topic. I tried a basic search of “My Tag” in “Your Documents”, but the search results do not show the full text of the notes. I know I could click on each of the search results and go to the note in the original document, but I was hoping to be able to collect them together to export into a topical study. Copying and pasting them one at a time would take too long (unless there is a way to select multiple notes, but I haven’t found a way to do that).

I would appreciate any tips on this. I did do a search and it looks like what I want is not possible, but I thought I’d ask in case I’d missed something.

No, you are not missing anything. The 'heading' or title of an individual note is always reduced to fit on a singe line. Unfortunately, as you know, that abbreviation may cover paragraphs of selected text.

Being able to see all the title is something that has been asked for before. You have illustrated one good way that could be put to use.

You'll see the same limitation if you try to directly print or export a single note or a note file. You'll end up with one or many useless one-line entries rather than the selection(s) you want to see.

I know this has been discussed a lot. I don't recall if Faithlife gave a reason for not allowing the entire title to be displayed, but it is a serious limitation within notes.

The word-around is to copy the text and paste it into the notes file when you create the note. This will show the desired text when printing/exporting, but only a single line in search results.

Thanks, Mark. I will start using the copy and paste method so that I can get the full verse along with my notes. Unfortunately, that still doesn’t solve the problem of trying to export only the notes tagged with a particular topic – exporting sends the whole file to Word.

I must admit that I am surprised that this cannot be done. I would have thought that almost everyone who uses Logos would want to tag topics as they read and then, at some point, want to go back and study all the verses they’ve tagged, along with any comments they may have made on them.
