Minor issues with Speaking to God interactive/dataset

1. I find it counter-intuitive / misleading to have quotations of previous acts of speaking to God coded as if they were in their original context.
I understand why this approach was taken, but wonder if an additional type of speech (e.g. referenced or quoted) that distinguished this from an actual speech act might solve the problem and make the data more useful.
2. In building Searches to see how closely other searches mimicked the interactive, I discovered that the documentation is incomplete as it does not tell us whether or not an element is unique to this data set or mirrors other coding. Examples of non-unique coding appear to be addressee, speaker, places, things, literary type. The example that left me confused was "Theme" ... is it or is it not unique to this dataset?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

It's coming from Preaching Themes data. You can see that by looking at the Information Panel (you may need to open the passage in a normal panel, first).
Most of the data in the Speaking to God dataset has come from other sources.

That's what I thought until I couldn't get searches to pick it up as Preaching Theme ... I'm back to the drawing board retesting ...
OR as I was trying to build:
- Type
- Addressee: {Addressee <Person name>}
- Speaker: {Speaker <Person name>}
- Book: use range option
- Context
- Distance
- Mode
- Content
- Place: <Place name>
- Thing: <Thing name>
- Theme: {Section <PreachingTheme theme>}.
- Literary Type: {Section <LiteraryType type>}

You obviously haven't been following Francis' recent thread carefully enough. He'll think you have vindicated his complaint!
You have to use {Section <PreachingTheme Adoption>}.

And from the help file
SectionSome data, especially data that is normally applied to long regions of text, must be found using the Section extension term, which takes as its content a data type reference of the information you wish to find.
As of this writing, Literary Type, Cultural Concepts, Biblical Events, and Preaching Themes (when applied to the Bible text) use the Section search extension. For example:
• {Section <LiteraryType Allegory>}
• {Section <Culture Assassination>}
• {Section <Event The flood>}
• {Section <PreachingTheme Marriage>}Several literary pheonomena do as well:
• Speech Acts — {Section <SpeechAct = Info: Assert>}
• Sentence Types — {Section <Sentence = Declarative>}
• Hebrew Grammatical Constructions — {Section <GrammaticalConstructions = Root Pairs>}
• Greek Grammatical Constructions — {Section <GrammaticalConstructions = 1st Condition>}

I had tried that without success ... so I decided to trust the cookbook ...[:$]
Have I missed any attributes that can be searched for in other ways?

You should report that as a bug!
The two "Jesus speaks to…" suggestions are also incomplete — they should use the INTERSECTS operator now.

Damien also found places where the context menu builds invalid searches for the same reason.
While INTERSECTS is better, the AND does come up with results - at least when I was testing but I'll double check.
Is my list here complete as far as you know i.e. type, context, distance, mode and content are unique to Speaking to God?

Yes, but it will potentially give false positives (e.g. When Jesus was in Jerusalem he said…) would come up in and AND search, but not with INTERSECTS (that's a made-up verse, but you get the point).

I'm pretty sure that's correct, yes.

I'll see how comprehensive a list of the errors I can pull together ... there is also a larger chunk of missing documentation on the search in help than I originally thought.

MJ,
This is marked as a quotation from the OT, is the issue that you do not feel this is sufficient?

As literary type ... no I don't because one can have an event that is directly speaking to God that quotes a text. That is different from a reference to a previous event of speaking to God.
