Cheapest option for Concordance Tool & Corresponding Words Visual Filter

Hello,

I have a quick question.
What is the cheapest option for me to get the new "Concordance Tool" and "Corresponding Words Visual Filter" features?

Will the free Logos 7 engine upgrade have these features?

I have the "Scholar's Library (KF)", purchased in 2011 (not exactly sure what Logos version it is), and I am using the free upgrade named "Logos 6 Core Engine".

The Logos website proposes an upgrade to Logos 7 Bronze, which is the cheapest that still has the Concordance Tool. At 428$ this is out of the question. I was thinking more like 50$ maximum.

I paid 550$ on the "Scholar's Library". I have absolutely no interest in paying hundreds more for books that I will never read, and in fact, I don't even intend to read. I just want a nice Bible study program (not a "human opinions" study program - Matthew 15:9 comes to mind ).

It's my understanding that Logos Now is a subscription. So it's not 90$ - it's 90$ for one year only.

I try to stay away from subscriptions because what usually happens is that I end-up paying much more than I actually use.

Now, compared to the Logos 7 Bronze, it's definitely worth it, but that's just because I suspect that most of the Logos 7 Bronze price goes into resources (books, commentaries, etc.) which I don't need.

Thanks for the suggestion though. If there is nothing else, I will consider it. It's the best option until now.

You realize that the features are not built into a library package such as Logos 7 Bronze but must be purchased separately either as a full or partial set?

Logos 7 features come separately from the library upgrade. Check how much the Full Feature Set will cost for permanent ownership, else joining Logos Now will cost $90 and then $100 for subsequent years, but gives you many benefits.

Features can not be purchased individually so the cheapest upfront cost is Logos Now as James suggested however you need to understand this is a recurring yearly subscription program and if you stop your subscription you will loose access to both the Corresponding Words Visual Filter and Concordance Tools and be back where you are now.

If you are not looking for a subscription program, which may be the case from what you have said, then the alternative is that you can buy the feature sets without purchasing a library. There are two options.

The Starter Feature Set which contains the Corresponding Words Visual Filter but not the Concordance tool.

To get both the Corresponding Words Visual Filter and the Concordance tool you would need to purchase the Full Feature Set.

You will need to visit each of the above links to determine what you dynamic price is based upon what you already own to see if you are eligible for a discounted price. Just make sure you are logged into your Logos account to see your dynamic price, but given you opted for the Free Logos 6 Core Engine last time there may not be a significant discount.

None of us can say with any certainty what will be included as part of the free engine upgrade. It's a wait an see approach. Logos have not made any announcements to my knowledge as to what will be considered as part of the Free Core Engine Upgrade but if you dont' want to purchase either of the feature sets or take up a yearly subscription at this point in time, this wait and see is the only other option available.

There is a missing piece here that seems to keep being obscured elsewhere on the forums as well.

Missing piece. Very likely buying Bronze+Full Feature Set (FFS) is cheaper than buying the Full Feature set.

1. No one need be confused about whether or not feature sets and libraries are separate. They are separate. We know that. But a much better deal may be possible buying them together.

2. Cristian already has Scholars KF, so very possibly (without doing any calculations) for him, Bronze + FFS is cheaper than buying just the FFS--because we get a discount buying them together.

3. Cristian doesn't want a subscription. He would probably pay more for the subscription in 2-4 years than if he bought the FFS outright and then he would own the FFS. Otherwise he has to rent for eternity paying buku bucks over a decade or so. All he seems to want is the concordance and corresponding words visual filter. Maybe Logos Now would be a great deal for him down the pike (and that is good advice), but that is not the trajectory I see him taking.

4. Cristian doesn't want more books, but I am guessing he would suffer having a few more books to get a better deal on FFS. He can even hide all the opinion pieces/books/resources he does not want.

This may be possible, I don't know since I'm not in a position to test it, but since OP doesn't own any of the Logos 6 datasets etc, and would not own any of the resources added to libraries into Logos 6 libraries that have carried over to Logos 7 libraries and none of the resources new to Logos 7 libraries I am not sure it would work out cheaper to do it that way - Either way out of respect to the OP's very strong view on not wanting more books I did not go down the path of entertaing whether or not it might be a cheaper option. But for other customers who don't mind a few more new books I agree this approach is worth at least trying out to see if it works out to be a better option.

For me, the full feature set alone is 402.50$ and the FFS+Bronze is 428.92$.

Since I am interested mainly in the concordance tool and corresponding words visual filter, I can't really justify paying 400$ for them.

I think I will wait and see what will be part of the free engine upgrade.

I'm not a good seer, but it seems to me Cristian's decision augers the current crossgrade/feature-set pricing model as unsustainable. If you skip a release, you're looking at some serious money, whether for features or a books combo.

I'd also suspect Now'ers are in it for the long-haul.
