Two linked ESV windows - with and without highlighting?

I use ESV Bible highlights for myself when teaching.

And I want to project another ESV window WITHOUT highlights. But when I change visual filters on one window, it also affects the other.

Is it possible?

Related question - Is there any forum, wiki or video resource that might help me learn how various people are managing resource windows/tabs when they are teaching and may need to open various commentaries, dictionaries and guides? (I am struggling to come up with a consistent approach, because with every cross-reference the Bible text jumps to different locations and tabs multiply like rabbits.)

One option is using two ESV resources (if have older High Definition ESV resources):

Another option is installing Logos and Verbum with Use Internet set to No in one of the installations so changing visual filter settings in one application does not sync to the other. Caveat: installing Logos and Verbum does duplicate library so need adequate storage space plus need adequate RAM to run both programs at the same time.

Logos wiki => Send Hyperlinks here illustrates one Bible tab changing location from a link click while others remain.

Thanks KS4V - Is there an ESV resource available to buy right now which would work? For example, I noticed the ESV Study Bible, but I suspect it wouldn't give me a duplicate ESV text resource. If the "final version" of ESV comes out as a new purchase rather than an update, that would also seem to be a possibility in the future if I am understanding your comment correctly.

I don't believe there are any available to purchase at the moment - and you are correct that the Study Bible won't provide the ESV text.

If the "final version" of ESV comes out as a new purchase rather than an update, that would also seem to be a possibility in the future

We have been advised that the final version of the ESV will update the resource we currently have so I'm afraid that won't help either.

I don't see any way of doing this unless the way the software works changes.

No, with the release of Discourse Datasets and Visual Filters in Logos Now 6.12 => https://www.logos.com/now-timeline the High Definition ESV resources are no longer available for purchase (removed from Lexham Discourse Bible)

Concur answer is No when normally using one application. Using two applications (Logos 7 & Verbum 7) with sync turned off in one (or both) allows ESV to be open in each application with different visual filter(s). Every open ESV within one application has the same visual filters, which is true for every resource.

My workaround...

In case anyone is interested, I discovered there are MANY different highlight styles and they can be set as a default style. So I plan to try the pencil underline style for notes. It's relatively tame, so seems acceptable to display it to everyone in an informal class setting. I would have liked an even less intrusive light dotted gray line, but this is fine.

With Use Internet set to No in Verbum, opened ESV in both Logos 7.1 RC 1 and Verbum 7.1 RC 1 so one Bible has different visual filters (unchecked all visual filters in Verbum):

Logos wiki => Quick Installation onto multiple computers Method 2 was helpful for quickly cloning Logos 7 to Verbum 7.

Alternative to setting Use Internet to No is working offline (since while offline visual filter settings do not sync).

As I understand it, the separate Verbum installation would certainly solve the highlights and visual filters. Unfortunately, it would not (I think) allow me to link the text position to maintain the same text location in Verbum as I'm looking at in Logos.

Native linking between applications = No

Noticed URL links for resources in Verbum have logosres, which is the same as Logos. Hence, a clunky idea is a document with resource location links so could click link in each application to change location. Option is creating document in one application, sync to the other followed by using one application offline for different visual filter(s). The documents for each application could be side by side to allow easy mouse movement for clicking each document while projector is showing ESV in a floating window from one application.

Logos 4 had a COM API that allowed external navigation requests to be sent to Logos; wiki has => Logos 4 COM API (not know about COM for Verbum)

Graham - Your screencast is great. I definitely want to use custom highlights/palettes. It's wonderful how often the designers of Logos have chosen to expose customization/flexibility/options to the users.

ESV Final - Crossway has apparently backed away from a "final" ESV version. They are at least considering necessary changes in the future. See https://www.crossway.org/blog/2016/09/crossway-statement-on-the-esv-bible-text/
