Bear of very little brain asking "Am I missing something?"

Hello there

I opted to go with just LogosNow for a year (most of the books a package would have added I either already owned or seemed unnecessary). I previously owned Baptist Silver 6.x. I would have been enticed by adding Chaplain's Library but its not around any longer.

I have a student's discount for a little while longer (though my wife thinks I am mastering in procrastination not actually pursuing an MDiv).

In your opinion, am I missing something? Was just going with LogosNow really the best way to go?

Going with LogosNow is a good decision for anyone not sure of the benefits provided by the various data sets, or anyone that has very limited (or metered) funds but want all of the advantages of the full package without the possible extreme outlay of funds now. They can save and/or determine value throughout the year.

If you own most of the books and the others are unnecessary then yeah you're all set. Or ask the lead minister for advice, he might be able to help since you're just the associate (who more often than not ends up becoming the "lead" minister).

My take on it is, build your library with as many resources as you can while they are cheaper for you. But build up based on what will help you most and get some denominational base packages if you can to have a direct perspective on what others believe; it'll help you not repeat what others think others believe. As the English saying goes, "It's better to hear it straight from the horse's mouth" or so they say 😁

Not many of my pastor friends know of or use Logos. I am also not an assistant pastor yet...I hope to be (Lord hear my prayer).

Young 55 year-old and in Rhode Island but eager to go with my Diane (one more year in my Mdiv to go) wherever the Lord leads us one day.

My price (with dynamic pricing) for Standard Bronze is about $204. That is just barely more than what Logos Now would cost to get me from now until Logos 8 releases, assuming a two-year schedule. Paying a small amount extra not only gives me the features to keep after the two years are up, but also gives me at least some new books.
