I have my Information update preference set to click instead of hover.
If the Information pane is visible, clicking on a word starts a search for and displays information about that word in the Information pane.
However, if the Information tab is present, but another tab is open in that same panel, clicking on a word does nothing. This is evidenced by switching to the Information tab after clicking on a word, and noticing that the results there are from a previous search.
I suggest that clicking for Information should activate the Information tab for us and then update the search, so results could be shown. This would save one or two clicks, from having to switch to the Information tab, then (re)clicking on the word.
