If I'm repeating, my apologies. Or confused more than normal.
My saga began with Sir Layard who found Shalmaneser III's obelisk at Nimrod. Nimrod??
So I searched for Nimrod, not Mr Nimrod ... the place. I narrowed down to my dictionaries (my tag). Big mistake. I used to use that tag but don't anymore. I suspect some hidden resources. Anyway, no results, and it took me a while to figure that out.
BUG: MyTag's in dropdowns should as a minimuum lead to real books that can be searched. Not a lookup table from years gone by.
I gave up that avenue, so I pulled Anchor Yale, only to find Mr Nimrod, but no place (actually a hazy discussion on where Nimrod might be, if it were a place). But luckily, Logos listed a <Place Nimrod (city)> so, I was getting closer. That turned out to be Micah 5:6. I quickly switched over to my text compare panel, typed in Mic 5 6 and accidentally hit the Interlinear button. Quickly correcting to Verses, it instead listed Mic 5:5 under Micah 5:6. I assume reflecting the hebrew interlinear versification.
BUG?: Does the versification get mixed up on Text Compare, especially moving between Interlinear and Verses?
Well, I finally got Text Compare to deliver Mic 5:6. And of course the loud debate on sword vs gates/opening. No one thought 'city', though 'land' having gates seemed odd. But Logos insisted 'city'. So, I swiched to the authoritative Logos interlinear, and indeed Logos had split the difference ... entrance or a drawn sword. That's when I noticed NET was driving the tech-notes in Lexham. NET voted for sword using an emendation (city bit the dust). So much for Logos city.
QUESTION: Is Logos endorsing NET for its notes now? Or just a coincidence?
And finally I concluded <Place Nimrod (city)> was someone dreaming ... until I looked at the Faithlife BD ... kingdom or group of cities. A bit of etymological obfuscation from Mr Nimrod's name, now more than one city. I suppose 'land of' just was not good enough.
TAGGING: Nimrod as a city?
