I have a question and would welcome any advice people may share. Currently, I have a Community Pricing bid for the “English Bible Collection (24) volumes” and this includes Isaac Leeser’s “The Twenty-Four Books of the Holy Scriptures” Fourth edition (The Bloch Publishing and Printing Company, 1891). At the same time I have a bid for what may be the same volume, but a different edition. This second book has a fuller title given – “The 24 Books of the Holy Scriptures, Carefully Translated according to the Massoretic Text, on the Basis of the English Version, after the Best Jewish Authorities and Supplied with Short Explanatory Notes” First Edition, publisher not stated, publication date 1853.
I’m assuming that this is the same work in a different edition, but I am wondering whether there is any value in my continuing my bid for the first edition? Is anyone aware of any differences between the first and fourth editions? Your advice would be appreciated. Keep well Paul
