Best font solution for Macbook Pro

I've used a Macbook Pro all through grad school with MS Word. I've just copied and pasted Hebrew words onto the document when I needed or used a transliteration font I downloaded.

Now that I'm writing my dissertation I need to be able to freely copy and paste Hebrew from Logos (and other Bible programs that shall remain nameless) AND the ability to type in Hebrew.

I've exhausted myself trying to download Hebrew font from SBL website. I purchased Mellel, but I don't really know how to use it or if I just wasted my money. 

Any solutions, Mac users? I mean, other than just going out and buying a PC? There's got to be a solution for typing Hebrew on MS Word. I'm willing to purchase Pages for Mac, if necessary.

The SBL one works fine on the Macs that I've worked with, just make sure you are downloading the unicode keyboard (that is the universal between programs). Then under system preferences, click on the keyboard icon. Then click 'Input sources' and add you'll see one of the options is "Biblical Hebrew Tiro". Most people that I know also enable the shortcuts 'Command-right arrow' to switch between an English keyboard and Hebrew one. (The shortcut is enabled on the Shortcut menu under the keyboard section of system preferences).
