Need help....

I was given a short list of exegetical or lexical problems in the text. I would like to be able to write a short paper after a thorough investigation of the resources on the problem in the text, lexicons, translations, reference sources, etc.

My question first and foremost is there a book or source that would describe how to go about "studying" this topic and writing a paper?

I probably don't have an answer for you, but it might help to get clarification: Are you interested in the general topic, or the specific topic (the verse(s) in question)?
