Depending on which Lexicon/Dictionary you use, when you right click the strong's number to do a search you get different terminologies which produce different results. For example  <GreekStrongs = G3056>  and  "Strong’s Greek #3056". The first one finds many more resources.

Which lexical resource have you found to use "Strong’s Greek #3056"?

Hm. The first terminology is Logos' notation for search - the second one is the (slightly more human-readable) way it may be shown in a resource, the right-cklick menu or in the preview window that opens when clicking a reference.

However, when going from that second 'terminology' (e.g. in the right-click menu of M-M or ESL) to e.g. "search all resources", the search will be build with the first 'terminology' and typically find all RI/Strongs-coded bibles plus those lexicons, concordances, word study resources that are indexed to Strongs. See me searching from the second 'terminology'

producing the first one for search automatically:

Do you see a case where that is different?

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

  • For example  <GreekStrongs = G3056>  and  "Strong’s Greek #3056". The first one finds many more resources.

Please provide screen shot showing first one finding more resources. Concur with NB.Mick that second terminology creates search using syntax of first one.

By the way, Basic Search for

    <GreekStrongs = G3056> OR ([field heading,largetext] λόγος)

includes lexicons with Greek Lemma indexing that do not have Strong's numbering. Also found one more segment in LA161 Course:

FYI: personally have lexicons without Strong's Numbering prioritized ahead of ones with Strong's Numbering so right click has one list of top five resources for lemma and different top five list for Strong's => searching strong's numbers

    Keep Smiling [:)]

Thank you very much I think you have resolved the problem. I was going through the Mobile Ed course Learning to use Greek with Logos 6 and got to the end of segment 12. I clicked the hyperlink at the end of the segment for searching Strong's #3056 and it gave the spurious results. I will be more careful next time. Thanks again.
