Logos Home Page Layout Issue/Question

A while back while still running Logos 6, my Logos Home Page stopped using the entire width of the screen to display the Home Page info and it still looks this way in Logos 7. The unused column on the far right is the same width as the two columns just to the right of the sidebar that are being populated. I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or something similar. Scrolling is also very sluggish and erratic. This only occurs on the Home Page. All my layouts are fine.

Negative. It's a regular clamshell style laptop--not even a touch screen. The only thing different about it from any laptops I've had in the past is that it's a 4K screen.

I found the problem. It seems that when displaying the Logos Home Page, that particular screen does not play well with a 4K display. I had considered that possibility before starting this topic and had first tried lowering the screen resolution to 1920 x 1080, but that didn't change the Home Page behavior. Then I tried logging out of Logos and back in with the resolution at the lower setting, but still no change. Today, I lowered the resolution again, then did a system restart and "then" started Logos, and voila, the home page displayed normally again (see screen shot below) and it responded more quickly and smoothly again when scrolling. So... it seems like Faithlife needs to change/add some coding so the Logos Home Page will work properly with a 4K resolution.

Faithlife... would it be difficult to get this resolved? I don't know what percentage of current laptops have 4K screens, but I'm seeing more of them. Again, the problem only occurs on the home page.

Thanks for posting this Rick, I am probably going to a 4K display pretty soon and this would not be good, I agree with you it should be fixed.

One thought, on my 1080 display, I played with the Accessibility/Program Scaling in Settings of Logos, to get more columns on the Home Page - I set it to 90%. It does make the default text smaller. I am wondering, have you tried experimenting with that as a workaround, to see if it uses the entire real estate?

(You may have to log off/log on to see changes, I don't remember right now)

Also, there are people who adjust Windows 10 scaling with good benefit, another thing to try:

Again I am not suggesting this in lieu of Faithlife fixing it, but in the interim I am wondering if you learn anything by playing with the Logos and Windows 10 scaling settings...?

Hi Don! Thanks for the suggestions. My system has been set at the recommended Win 10 scaling of 250% and I had set my Logos program scaling to 110%, because other than the Home page, that gave me the best/most useful display in Logos in combination with the recommended Win 10 scaling.

So based on your post, I've played around with both the Win 10 and Logos scaling settings and depending on the two scaling settings in use, have been able to make use of the full screen on the Logos Home page, sometimes with it displaying just two columns, sometimes three, and sometimes four. However changing the recommended Win 10 scaling does have some negative consequences when using the laptop with other apps as well as Win 10 System and Utility screens, internet browser, etc., so I'm not sure what I'll do. I may just live with the two column Home page unless/until Faithlife can tweak it, but I doubt tweaking the code just for the Home page will be very high on Faithlife's "To Do" list.

In any event, it's nice to know I can adjust the scaling to get a better Home page experience if I can live with the side affects in other apps, so thanks again for the suggestions. [:)]

Edit: After playing around with it for a bit, I'm thinking the negative side affects may not be as problematic as it originally seemed. I'll leave it at that unless I happen to run across an app or situation where it causes a significant inconvenience or problem.
