Can you identify the horizontal lines that are appearing on the right of the panel in the attached photo. When I hover over one of them a new panel is opened from the same resource. Also, how do I get rid of the lines.
They are "Visual Bookmarks" or "Wear Marks"
you turn them off in Program Settings.

Those are visual bookmarks, which you can turn off in the Program Settings.
Just to help clarify what Graham and Petah said, in the Program Settings (Tools menu), you need to click "NO" on "Show Auto and Favorite Bookmarks."
