Mac: Crash on Add Item

For some reason every time I attempt to add an item to any presentation on my mac the app just crashes.

This issue does not occur on my Windows machine.

The issue started on El Capitan when nothing had changed except maybe a Proclaim update, I'm not sure.

I then upgraded to Sierra and the issue persists.

I've reinstalled Proclaim (removing the file from the Application folder as well as the Application support folder).

I've even created a new user on my mac.

Still every time I go to add an item to a presentation Proclaim crashes.

Any ideas to solve this would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry about this Gary. It appears to be an issue that has cropped recently, and has only affected a small number of users which makes it hard to debug. We had a hunch however and shipped an update that contains an option we can toggle. I went ahead and toggled this for your account.

Could you re-open Proclaim and when the startup window says “Syncing” let it fully sync. (Don’t click skip)

Then try the add item menu again. If this doesn’t work, try restarting Proclaim.

Hopefully everything will work again and you will be back in business. Let me know how it goes.

Glad to hear this worked! The toggle is a stopgap measure. We're actively investigating a permanent fix that will be rolled out to all Proclaim users.
