Deleting a list in Tools and deleting a file in Documents

I have searched high and low and cannot find out how to delete a list or a file. 

would sincerely appreciate any help.  Thank you!

    I have searched high and low and cannot find out how to delete a list or a file. 

    The typical gesture for many apps (including the logos ones) is to do a swipe left. This will reveal a "delete" button. This should work in "documents." If you are trying to do something else, please let us know more explicitly.
