Just so that I am clear, 4.0b isn't officially released yet, but you believe that it is significantly close to discuss the new features. Please advise.
Thanks.

It is in release candidate stage, no new features, only stability fixes are being applied, so yes it is close.

Excellent work as usual Mark, I have been running 4.0b since the beta was released and I still didn't have a good understanding of some of the features until watching your video.

Thank you for that video overview, much appreciated. I'm one of those anxiously awaiting Notes, Highlighting, and Favorites so L4 can be the main player for study.
When you overviewed highlighting, did you by chance skip, or is it not present, the ability to assign speed keys for highlighting (as we can do in L3)? Using the mouse to select, click menus, scroll down, select again, etc. is very time consuming for those who highlight/annotate their study. Thus, I'm really hoping the ability to assign keys is present.
Again, much thanks for your work.

Good question, I don't know if speed keys exist, I do not think they do but I await an answer from someone else too. I will say that for me it's not as many steps as you cite, The highlighting tab stays up, just were I located it, in my case next to the windows with my Bible. So when I want to highlight, I click and drag the selection, and then 1 click for the highlight type that is already shown.Depending on what I am doing, all the Inductive highlighting choices are easily up at the same time, as is the "Erase" button at the top.

hmmm. I can't see any of those videos, though I can see the L3 videos. What site is hosting them? Vimeo? Veoh? Youtube? Other?

Mark, Thank you for another great video.
I seem to frequently make mistakes when typing long verse lists into the "copy bible verses" tool...I noticed that the passage guide now auto-corrects...it would sure be nice if copy bible verses was a bit smarter in walking the user through where the error is, rather than just ignoring the whole string and forcing a complete re-entry.

Thank you very much. I am a new convert to Logos and have learned a lot about using the software from your videos.
I must admit being English but living in the States for 9 years now I do enjoy listening to a British accent [:)]

Mark,
I watched thew video and found it to be very informative and well done although I wish it was a little larger.
I downloaded 4.0b rc-2 (4.02,3.7337) which I understand is the latest beta but was suprized that there was no prayer list, parralel resources or custom highliting capabilities. I confirmed from the help screen that the release numbers were the same. Any idea why or what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks,
Michael

Excellent, Mark. Very much appreciated.
Several things there that will be useful. Parallel resources. Custom highlighting. Bibliographical export. Import notes/highlighting/favorites. etc.
Looking forward to the release.

You have no parallel resource icon on any bible?

Michael,
To make the video larger, you can click on what look like 4 arrows, which makes it full screen. THen, if necessary, turn scaling on (button near the top right).
If you have that release installed, you will have those features:
- Prayer list should be on the file menu
- Parallel resource sets will only show if you are in a bible or dictionary. You need to make sure page numbers are not being displayed in the navigation box, but bible reference or headwords instead.
- Custom highlighting is accessed through a right-click (new palette)

That's because he speaks English not American [;)] - well nearly, he does have a slight accent [:P]

Mark,
Thanks for the quick reply. Problem appears to have been to what we used to call at NASA "operator head-space", that empty space between the ears. Perhaps it was the latness of the hour last night or just my old tired eyes but for the life of me I couldn't find the prayer lists or custom highlite functions nor the parralel resources.
This morning, I found the prayers list and custom highlite functions just fine. Initially I couldn't see the paralell resource function but that was do to how I had laid out the screen on the particular layout I was using. The windows were too narrow. Once I rearranged the width of my windows on my layoout all was ok.
Again, thanks for the videos. Much easier to view in full screen.
One more thought. Would you ever consider doing a video on the use of the notes capabilities on Logos 4? I'm interested in seeing the advantages and disadvantages of using notes in Bibles and resources compared to notes in the Passage Guide, Exegetical Guide and wherever else they are capable of being used.. When is one better than the other?
Anyway, thanks again.
Michael
