Wordly Misappropriation of 'New' and 'Sale'

I really don't really care about this. I just think Logos.com is target practicing using their own foot.

I periodically scan Logos.com for anything exciting (books). Kind of like the eternal hope in a bookstore of finding a precious gem. Pearl and no great price!

So, I'm lazy and use the carot panel. I notice 'Sales' ... well, ok! But it's not books for sale. It's mainly CPs. Yawn. 'Gathering' as in 'unto the fathers'.

Then I try 'New'. That one is mainly Prepubs. More books you can't actually 'buy'. 'Read'.

Now, yes, rationalize ... you save money!!! The only issue is the target practice problem ... no bucks for Logos.

The good news is that you can filter sales or new items by status.

Selecting "Live" from the criteria will omit the CPs and Prepubs, and only show you published products that are on sale or new.

'Sale' has been known to be used very loosely by FL. A collection that is less than full price simply due to dynamic pricing has been shown on the website as being on 'sale'.

I've not noticed this which is not surprising as I don't spend much time on Logos.com. Do you have an example?

Glenn .. you may have missed the point(s):

- I'm not after search results. That was 2 days ago. In marketing, you get a time to shine, before the customer bunny is off to the big A.

- A search string on a forum is not a solution. (Normally). Who in their right mind is in your product section and thinks 'Oh, let me search for the search string'

Now, I can probably add point(s):

- Just being frank, I've never detected what Logos sales are for. Most companies have 'build traffic', or 'increase brand loyalty' or 'build a support base' or 'be really nice' etc, etc. Something.

- My impression, is sales at Logos are to fill in the blanks. Sale buttons for products maybe available years from now? 15% off for fluff (I don't bother for less than 20%) Even more frankly, I haven't budgeted for the 2016 Black Friday/Tuesday at Logos, since I assume you're done for the year.

But I DO appreciate your intensions (and your help to others)

My cutoff has generally been 40%, but I prefer 60-80% off individual items (when $50 commentary volumes are $10 or $20). Even inbound Sales reps seem to be restricted in what they can offer now, as I have not been able to recently save anything by working with a rep.

I guess I've gotten a bit disillusioned myself as Logos seems to be moving away from the discounts that they've offered in the past. I hope Black Friday and the L7 Topical Bundles won't be a disappointment, compared to past years.

I think that FL is becoming very focused in how they try to draw in new customers, especially with things like the Mobile Ed church offering, and that "Sales" are more of a curtain that you have to finally see behind, and are left disappointed, when you realize that marketing, not customer satisfaction or education, seems to be the pressing issue.

While I like Logos, and it's my preferred platform for study because it's more functional than other offerings, I feel like we are merely a revenue stream for FL, and certain other publishers.
