Commentary doesn't stay in synch with Bible

I have normally had one of the commentaries up next to the NAGNT running in parallel with it and I am absolutely sure that the two always ran well side-by-side before, moving verse-by-verse together. However about three or four weeks ago I noticed that the commentary won't stay in synch with the Bible, but lags it, staying instead at the last head of the section, instead of moving along verse by verse with the bible reading. If one clicks on the commentary, in order to forward it to the present text, the bible version jumps back considerably to the place where the commentary is still at. The commentary won't run smoothly in parallel with the bible text as it used to. Instead, to get the commentary caught up to the bible text, one has to carefully place the verse in the bible which heads that commentary section at the very top of the page in order for the commentary (Carson's in this case) to move to that next section. If the bible verse which starts the new section in the commentary is not placed at the very top of the page, the commentary won't move to that new section. It is irritating and a waste of time, and, I think, a new problem. Any clues? Thanks!

I received an email in response to this asking if I was sure that the two resources were set as a linked set: "Have you double checked that they are a linked set - letter by cover image?". They are a linked set (in fact, I cleared the links and then redid them just to experiment) but I am not sure of what the last phrase means "letter by cover image". Anyone give me some insight?

As an example of what I am trying to say: I am currently studying in Ac. 2:22, but the linked commentary stays at the Ac. 2:1-47 major heading, showing vv. 1 and vv. 2 commentary. If I click on the commentary to try to bring it up to 2:22, the bible text jumps back to Ac. 2:1 and stays there. If I click again on the Bible to take it back to 2:22 where I was studying, the commentary immediately jumps back to the major heading Ac. 2:1-47. I can read one of them at a time at the place where I want to be, but not both. After much study in the Helps, I am baffled.

They just meant that the "link set letter" is to be found by the image of the cover of the resource in the tab....trust me...you found it....

Really good question...and one I had wondered about myself. Of course, the commentary presenting the problem is the usual commentary I have up, so I normally had it there. But I actually kicked another one up in its place to experiment (and, interestingly, one without major headings and subheadings) and that commentary runs right parallel with the verse of the bible, verse-by-verse--no problem. So it almost looks like the headings on the Carson comentary are suddenly stalling the movement of that commentary until you get far enough in your parallel reading to get to the next heading or sub-heading, at which time the commentary will change suddenly all the way to the next heading/subheading. I feel a little crazy here, but I am absolutely sure that over the years this has not happened before with the Carson commentary. I did do an update in Logos approximately two weeks ago, which was probably around the time I noticed this so.... Thanks for all your ideas!

I have a similar problem in Logos 4 but there I think it is the design. I didn't really notice a problem in 3.0.

To get around the issue in 4.0 I usually break the link between the Bible and Commentary and scroll each individually. Sort of defeats he purpose, I know, but better than all the jumping around like you've observed. (I keep the links from my Bible to some other resources set so I still get the link benefit there.)

I so appreciate your good help. That is pretty much the solution I have come to as well--breaking the link and just scrolling along manually. It is not a terrible burden since I only rarely consult the commentary, so it is not a matter of having to scroll every couple minutes. Plus...I don't read the Greek text fast enough to have to scroll the commentary too much, even if I tried to always keep it parallel! Thanks again!
