Forum organization

The forums would be more useful if I could find what I'm interested in more easily and in the long run this is what is going to determine whether I am a frequent user and contributor.
- I subscribe to the forums through RSS and get email replies for some posts I make. I've noticed that the RSS feed seems to only have the first post in a
"thread" but not any replies to it. Is that true?
- Tag searching isn't too useful to me because the tags are not
standardized. So it would be helpful to either expand the main topic
structure or force people to use at least one or two standardized tags
in addition to ones of their own making that would categorize the posts better.
- The main topic categories are
way too broad and are set up by product, which I think makes sense from Logos'
point of view, but not always from a user's point of view. Though there are many posts about product installation and operation problems that need to be addressed, a part of what makes the forum a community (as some seem to want) is discussion about application. It's like the difference between Logos help information and a Morris Proctor seminar. Mo is more focused on how to accomplish what you want to get done than on simply telling you mechanics of how Logos works. So sometimes an application-oriented post has less to do with whether it is on L3, L4 or iPhone than technique and which resources are being used.
- I notice on the forum main page that I can view unread posts or recent posts. I don't care about a lot of the unread posts. It would be nice if I could mark posts in these lists as read or not-interested and then see the resulting lists. It might be interesting to have a list of unread posts relating to categories and tags of my own preselected choosing.
Perhaps other have a better way to accomplish this.
Have a great day,

My other two suggestions are one that youalluded to. We need a play forum. Where we can just hang out and discuss off topic stuff.
Second we need a link to the "first unread" post in a thread. Sometimes when a thread is many pages long but also a very hot topic you might go to the latest post but then have to back up a page or two. Most bulletin board software has this below the title of the thread in forum page that lists all the threads or at least in the thread at the top.

I've noticed the mix too. I see a lot of L4 posts in the L3 RSS feed. I assumed people were just posting in the wrong forum. I like your idea of "first unread" post in a thread.
I notice that when I reply to a post, the tag field at the bottom is empty. I think it should autofill with the tags of the post you are replying to.
