See what's Missing below for an estimated arrival time for these features.
To answer your question, printing was missed because in the user stat's Logos gathered very, very few people printed from Logos (I don't, e.g.). But it was one of the first things Logos decided to put back in. Still this requires enough work that it has been back-burnered until other things, promised first, and used by more people, are in place.

I see this is your first post. Welcome.
You should think of Logos 4 as a work in progress. It was released without all the planned features. Check out Rich's link to what's missing, and look here to see what will be coming in the next release, expected at any time now: http://wiki.logos.com/4.0b
I agree but would prioritize them in reverse.
If it was/is a work in progress then why the deadline for the discounted "upgrade" from version 3? I had to buy a new computer to run the thing, and did not expect that I was getting a half finished product. As a bi-vocational pastor I did not have a lot of money to invest, but knew I needed to make the switch. As slick as it is in some areas it was not ready in others (printing, notes, clarity, usability). Having said that, am I able to productively use the program for exegesis and sermon prep? Yes, but the learning curve can still be daunting.

Now matter what cut off date was selected, someone would feel left out. As you say, the program can be used productively, so it was in reality ready to ship.
BTW, Welcome to L4 and to the forums.
but the learning curve can still be daunting.
There is a lot to learn, but you will find plenty of assistance here.
