Is this how the slide is designed to look?
Looks a little odd to me!
YES! It's the new design theory sweeping Bellingham.
Hi Mike,Can you confirm where you saw this occurring? It looks good on Biblescreen, Facebook, in the Logos App, and in the scheduled email for me:https://bible.faithlife.com/books/esv/Ps130If you can let us know where you viewed this, that would help us track the issue down so we can fix it.Thanks!~Anna
The image popped up on the home page of Logos Bible Software
I clicked on it and it opened a panel...'Media' after retyping the reference I found...
Hi Mike,You can delete the text in the "body text" panel, and that should take care of the problem for you (the Media tool pulls the verse text in so you can place it on top of a different background if you wanted to browse around, but if you just wanted the Verse of the Day image itself, you can simply delete the body text). Let us know if you have any other questions! Thanks,~Anna
Thanks Anna
Originally I clicked on the image intending to use it as a desktop background and did not notice the 'Body Text' box.
When I posted the screen shot I saw the text on the slide but had not noticed that it had changed. It isn't easy to read.
I wonder if it is the best solution for the Media panel to open with that box already populated with text?
It certainly caught me out. Is there a reason for not having the box empty when the panel opens?
Mike,
It looks like you've come across a user experience we are in the process of improving.
We recently re-enabled clicking on VotD images from the Homepage and opening Media Tool. Unfortunately, the method MT uses to find the image being opened needs a little bit more data than the old Visual Copy did, given the addition of enhanced media browsing and a lot more media. Visual Copy was able to open the homepage image mostly by coincidence.
Media Tool also has the new feature of adding a "Body Text" field to media that doesn't have any fields. Typically, MT will not populate this field with any default text*. However, in the case of opening MT "from a reference" (which is what clicking on the homepage VotD image is currently doing), any "Body Text" field is populated with the contents of that reference.
* default text is generally, "This is sample body text" and not actually shown as editable text, but just replaced when text is entered into the field. Opening Media Tool from a reference, selection, etc. will attempt to choose a relevant media item and insert relevant text into relevant fields, as a convenience. If the relevant media happens to not have any fields, MT will add a field and include the relevant text. Ideally, this is beneficial to the user (and is colored/styled in a way that is at least visible to the user).
Future changes that should improve this experience
Thanks for the report, and I hope that this information helps!
