Wish List fails

I am continually receiving the following error when I attempt to view my Wish List:

504 Gateway Time-out

The server didn't respond in time.

This has been a recurring issue since the release of Logos 7, but I have usually been able to access my Wish List after a couple of failed attempts. Today, however, I cannot access my Wish List at all.

I have also been having this problem, even before going to Logos 7. I have attempted to see the wish list from different browsers, after clearing the browsing data, different devices, switching DNS servers, and several other suggested solutions, but to no avail. Is there a solution out there that will work Faithlife?

    Thank you.

I've just tried it and it works fine - so it doesn't look like a general issue on the Faithlife servers

Are you able to check firewall logs at all to see if the connections are being blocked in some way?

I'm still having the problem as well, although less severely than I originally reported. It's back to "refresh the browser, wait, and after a couple of tries it works". Different browsers, different computers, from different locations (home and office); same behavior.

In my case, I do have a lengthy set of wish lists, as that is the best organizational scheme available to me for keeping track. I have considered that the way I have organized my wish lists may be a contributing factor. However, there is no better option available for organizing what I want to track for potential purchase, short of an offline spreadsheet (which I also have).

    Hi everyone,

Wishlists that contain hundreds and hundreds of items are just too big for the wishlist feature to perform properly on the website.  Reducing the size of the wishlist will resolve the timeout issues.

So, how would you suggest taking things off the wish list if you actually cannot get to the wish list? I can see the wish list items when I have the option to add something from it into my cart (interesting...), but I don't see any option to remove things from the wish list there, and it doesn't show me what I've already purchased so that I can take off those items.

    Thanks for the help.

I poked around come more and found how I could remove things from the wish list through viewing it from the cart. I removed quite a bit (mainly those things way out of the price range... BTW, shouldn't there be a "dream list" for those items? Ha!), but it's still having problems. I'll keep working on it to see if there's any change.

Well, got it figured out (for those of you who have been following this "riveting" thread, or if you happen to run into the same problem). The problem was too many items on the wish list. The problem with finding the problem was that the time-effective way to discover it was to simply click "All" and then "Remove". That was painful, but the good news is now I can go back to "window-shopping" (or catalog shopping, like when we were kids-- "I want that, and that..."), but this time a little more conscious of the amount of items on the list.

Now, this could have all been solved much more easily if the items purchased were automatically removed from the wish list. See, over the last year I have been able to purchase a good portion of those items on my wish list, and if they had been automatically removed, the wish list size never would have grown too large to handle. Thus, my strong suggestion to include this feature, at least as an option, in the wish list.

    Thank you.

How long does one have to wait to see if deleting some items fixed the problem? I'd rather not delete my whole list if I don't have to

This is a tremendous marketing cluster. Wish list data is critical for marketing. If customers can't put more stuff on their wish list, FL can't tell what they can easily move with sales, etc.

I've never had trouble with my WL in the past, but it will barely load now (it did load after a long delay). So where have the corners been cut? And why?

Count me in as someone else who has been unable to view my wishlist the last few days. No, it does not contain hundreds of items, so that is not the problem. In fact, I just REMOVED several items earlier this week after purchasing two additional base packages. Perhaps Faithlife changed something on their end, putting a cap where there previously was not one, or where the cap was previously higher? What is the current maximum amount of items permitted?

Yeah I never had issues before and only added a few in the past few weeks so there must be a straw somewhere that broke the camel's back. I agree this is silly. Why would you limit the amount of items? If you are limiting why not tell people or prevent them from adding? To make matters worse I called CS and was told they could access my list so there must be something in the pipe clogging it. My internet runs around 60mb with single digit pings and my computer is all up to date so this is quite frustrating

It seems this error is presenting itself again. I do not have hundreds and hundreds of items on my list
