I'm brand new... I have several questions

First, When watching the mac demo its looks awesome however mine looks nothing even close to how the one in the video looks. In the video the guy has a complete different first page that he is starting from and all of the windows he has open when he is actually using the program have little icons across the top bar and other stuff and mine is just totally blank. What is going on.
So if this is due to it being the Alpha then how do they make a video showing how the mac stuff works if it isn't finished yet.
I was thinking about trying to get parallels 5 and run the windowns version but do i need to also buy windows 7 or another windows program?... I'm a little low on cash and i don' want to buy Parallels 5 only to find out i also have to buy windows.
What should i do?

Yes, you will need to purchase Windows in order to use Parallels 5.

I haven't seen the video, so I can't comment on that. Have you seen this thread New to Logos 4 Mac? START HERE! (Official Logos 4 Mac Alpha FAQ) ? It is the very best place to start.
In order to get help with your problem, you will need to follow the link in Item 6 of the New to Logos 4 Mac thread.

Hi Lucas,
It is almost certain that the differences you see are due to the Alpha nature of the Mac Version.
This though is progressing at a very quick rate and we are getting new versions every fortnight.
I don't use the Windows version and find that I can do almost everything I need to with the existing Alpha
but then I too am a new user and am learning as the programme develops rather than having all the bells and whistles to play with.
Join the clan - save your money for books rather than parallels etc - you won't be missing much for long.
Best wishes

Just to note: if you DO decide on parallels, then you can purchase a copy of WinXP from Ebay for cheap.
I got my copy; legal and registered; single license, for 20.00.

Jack, I read that thread and it was helpful thank you! however I'm still confused about what it is suppose to look like... take a peek at the video for me and see if that is what yours looks like because mine doesn't.

I couldn't get the Mac demo to play. Here is my answer why they look different: the Mac video is either for the previous generation of software, or it is the L4 PC video. When L4 Mac is completed it will function just like the windows product, so if you want an idea of what the finalized Mac engine will (basically) function like, you can watch the PC tutorial videos.

Michael,
I curious about the shortcuts that i see in the videos.
Next to the Home, Library, and search tabs in the top left there is other shortcuts for file, guide....etc in the videos is this not on the mac version yet? And the new A15 details says the custom guide templates feature is good to go but i cant name it or save it do you know anything about this?
Does anyone?

Yes, i can confirm the video is Logos 3 for Mac from a previous generation, so i understand the confusion. Logos 4 for Mac is under development & will function like the window version when it is completed.

If you want to see how the Windows version of Logos 4 works, check out the videos here: http://www.logos.com/videos
That'll give you a pretty good idea of what the Mac version will work like when it's finished.

The Mac Version stores these menus in the Menu bar at the top of the screen. I wouldn't expect to see the menus placed where they are in the Windows Engine

I'm not sure how to save and utilize a saved guide either. Sorry man.
