It does not sound like you are into serious reading on your Tablet or any other computer screen.
Not true. I read about 4-8 hours a day on a laptop or desktop PC. I read another hour or so on my iphone. I never have eye fatigue. Sometimes get but fatigue sitting.
RandalMHill said:Faster? I seriously doubt it. Of course, it will depend on what you are running on it
That's just it. I won't be running Windows 7 and the PC version of Logos. I will be running iPhone OS and the Logos iPhone/iPad app. Everyone who has actually used it say that it isntantly pops when you tap an icon to open an app. As for the mainstream apps, who cares. I will not need Word. I have Docs to Go and I will likely get the iWork apps too.
RandalMHill said:Apple claims 10 hr battery life, but nobody seems to take that very seriously. Apple claims similar specs for the battery life of the iPhone, but I know from experience that a couple of hours using it full time (talking, surfing, text) is more like it.
I use my iPhone heavily all day and I always get through a 16 to 18 hour day with juice to spare. If you keep bluetooth running that is a problem.
We'll see. When I get mine April 3 i will post my experiences. If you don't see it here, you will be able to find a link on my site below.

Tablet form PCs have been available for years - I spent some time trying to use Logos on one a few years ago. What about the iPad makes it better than these tablet PCs?
I would say the main difference is the touch interface is built in from the ground up. It's not slapping a different form factor on a mouse and keyboard based operating system. The way you interact with it will be much different.
And for those who say it's just a bigger iPhone/iPod Touch. They are right and wrong. It is a bigger iPhone just like a 50 inch plasma is just a bigger 20 inch TV. Why would you want one over the other, it's still shows the same movies. The mechanics may be the same, but the experience will be something much different.

I ordered four. One for me, another for my wife and two more for my two sons. Yes, and we love logos. Can't wait to study the Bible on my iPad.
Can I get adopted???
Hahaha, only if you're willing to move to Puerto Rico... That was funny, you've made my day. Blessings.
Hey, I lived in Miami for 4 years and had plenty of red beans and rice at my Boricuan friends house (and you know, to eat red beans, and not black in Miami is a huge huge deal!!!) . . . . so, I am almost kin!
Hey Dan, my wife is half cuban so no problem with the black beans either... Welcome to the family (the Logos 4 iPad family) [;)]

Terry,
Oatmeal porridge is a Scottish national dish. I make it for lunch (most folks have it for breakfast).
Recipe for 3-4 people (Well, two in our house)
- 1 cup Oatmeal (I use Pinhead Oatmeal – the coarsest grind you can get)
- 4 cups cold water
- Bring to the boil.
- Add teaspoon of salt (I use low sodium salt)
- Stir constantly with a wooden spurtle (spoon will do but hold it upside down so you have the handle in the porridge – seriously a spurtle is just a round-section wooden stick) for 20 minutes.
- Pour into bowls.
- Serve with half cream.
It'll put hairs on your chest, man!
Every blessing
Alan
BTW All this talk about iPad is just upsetting me. I can't see me getting one for about two years! [:'(]

4 cups cold waterI use a 1:3 ratio and something here called an Irish grind or Steel Cut. Much coarser than the normal rolled oats that most N.A. are familiar with.

Now if you said on my head, you might have a selling point, but if it puts anymore hairs on my chest, birds will start nesting there. [;)]

You are right. It is defnitely not a phone. But I think i'd look a little weird holding this thing the size of a large but thin paper back up to my head.
Kevin,
Have you considered duct tape?

Yep. That's where I hold all the credit cards needed to buy Logos resources and my new iPad.

Yeah! All you can eat squid is great there.
Actually not even mine. I haven't had and extra $15 in years. Just found it on line when duct tape was mentioned.

Same here. I want to see what the Logos iPad will look like. If it is a bigger version of the iPhone app, then I'll pass on both and continue my plans to get a 15" MacBook Pro -- when the Mac L4 is at least in beta -- with Notes and highlighting.

Well, mine has shipped. Something tells me it won't have a "Made in America" sticker on it.

Wow! How's Logos runing on the iPad, have you been using it, or do you need to wait too April 3 to download apps on it?Terry Poperszky said:Well, mine has shipped. Something tells me it won't have a "Made in America" sticker on it.
It'll be another month before I get mine (I ordered the 3G version). [:^)]

They have all shipped but are in transit and I would expect this to be like the iPhone 3GS rollout where people had boxes sitting in UPS storage facilities but coult not access them till the launch date. That was my experience then. I ordered for day one shipment of my iPhone 3GS and got notice that according to UPS tracking it was at the UPS warehouse in Louisville KY for two days just sitting then. Then the day before it suddenly was in my local NC are store and delivered the next day.
Now my iPad is in Hickory, just a 20 min. drive from me but I cannot access it since they have been told do not deliver till they get official word from Apple, which will mean not before Saturday.
UPDATE: Just checked again. The Hickory reference went away and guess where UPS says it is now? Louisville KY again.

I wish mine would just get to the U.S. lol. Mine still says it is in China.

I'll be watching for reviews and comments on this iPad/Logos combo. It could be my lone Christmas present request later this year.
