NIDOTTE and extra/incorrect vowels
Someone might be able to direct me to a relevant thread on this topic. But I've skimmed 30 pages of forums covering 'NIDOTTE' all the way back to 2010 without finding anything.
I've only just realised a major difference between the print and digital versions of NIDOTTE. All the verb headwords have had vowels added. This includes the pointings / markings / diacritics on the Hebrew-text term and additional characters added to the transliteration. Here's a simple example:
As the entry notes, the verb occurs only in the Niphal form. So the Qal vowels that have been added are hypothetical. This is the case with other verbs as well, that occur only in the Hiphil, etc.
My immediate concern is for academic use. There's nothing in the digital version to indicate that its headword is not the correct entry that would occur in the print edition; how can one cite the entry correctly? It might also mislead me into expecting Qal forms of a non-Qal verb. (And, given that digital versions regularly use Hebrew text where the print version uses transliteration, I suspect the problem extends right through most/all articles as well as in their titles.)
I acknowledge that the problem stems from Zondervan's original digital data; I can trace this back as far as a 2001 copy of the pre-Pradis Zondervan Reference Software. So Logos hasn't introduced the error. But I'm surprised that a reputable software platform is continuing to propagate the problem.

This is something that needs to be indicated, at minimum. Many readers, I assume, will not be PhD level Hebrew readers, and assume the existence of the Qal if the headword is voweled as such.
Ideally, revert to the print. That is what readers expect with electronic books.

Just some further confirmation that vowels have been added throughout an article. That means that the inferring of Qal vowels afflicts far more than just the headwords. (And, given that Logos chooses to present NIDOTTE's transliterated characters with full Hebrew, changes in transliteration conventions can lead to yet further differences to the print version.)
