I have tagged a number of books with "pray" and others with "prayer". I'd like them all tagged one or the other. What is the best way to do this?
I've set up a tag called "test" and one called "testing" to replicate what you describe (I already have one for prayer
Now setting a library filter of "mytag:test" (you would use mytag:pray) finds the resources with either tag
If you select them both and open the details panel you see the tags that have been set
Hovering over an entry shows two options:
Selecting the "Apply to all" option for one tag and the delete option for the other should give you what you want.
