$15 is pretty peannutty good and look at the table of contents ... quite extensive. Great reading for when your football team is hopelessly loosing, during the holidays.
I have the https://www.logos.com/product/25329/samaritan-studies-collection but I feel these are not really up to date, thus I ordered the newer book
your football team is hopelessly loosing
Huh? with the Seahawks and Huskies? ... yes, I'm already in on the Samaritans

How does this compare to information available in the IVP dictionaries, ABD and background material in commentaries?
DAL
Been in on this for awhile, and am looking forward to reading it in the new year [:D]
DAL, don't know.
If you do much with the Samaritans, you basically have some sketchy early info, odd patterns in Acts and John, some connects to the DSS, and then a major body of writings much later. There's a tendency to write off the Samaritan Torah by virtue of mountain references, and later writings by virtue of not-western.
So, whenever you see a good volume and good price, and presuming interest, best to sign ... can always refund if not what you hoped for.
Relative to the resources you mention, the biggest more modern change is the DSS connects, and a greater willingness to look at the evidence from north of Bethel.
Thanks Denise! I guess you're right, I can always return it if not pleased.
Just an additional note (to avoid another thread).
If like me, you're mainly trying to figure out textually what happened between Babylon and Jesus (2nd Temple), with the Samaritans as a major clue, then you may also like https://www.logos.com/product/14916/shiloh-a-biblical-city-in-tradition-and-history
Both the Samaritan resource just shipped, and 'Shiloh' hinge on the Tent of Meeting, and 'swirl' about the textual extension beyond the Penteteuch. Of course, that then connects up with the oddity of the Saducees (also Penteteuch, no-angels, etc.) who disappear with nary a trace.
Additionally, the Shiloh volume goes into considerable depth on the JEPD theory/arguments, with Shiloh solidly sitting in the middle. A very nice pair of books.
I added this to my wish list.
This also reminds me of another problem: after some time I cannot remember anymore why on earth this book is in my wish list. It would be good to have a text field in the wish list for the user to add text (similar as in Amazon)
I'd not thought about it, but you're right. I've put resources on my list, deleted them, only to get them back. Several times. It'd be nice if you could manually sort them, but that would be asking too much.
