custom reading plan

I'm trying to make a custom reading plan, reading D.A. Carson's "For the Love of God, Vol. 2" each day throughout 2017, however, whenever I try to do it, it starts at the beginning of the book, the title page or something, and not starting the daily readings like I want it to do.

I've set this up before, as I read For the Love of God vol. 1 in 2015, however, I cannot remember how to do it so it goes how I want it to.
