Program crashes when I try to make this change in the settings. Would be VERY helpful to have this working asap.

This issue should be resolved in the most recent update (2.0.0.0032).
6170.Proclaim Logs.zipI have the current version specified. Still crashes every time.
Can you create an exception for the Proclaim folder or the Proclaim executable file in your firewall?
The Proclaim folder is located at C:\Users\jeholmes\AppData\Local\. You'll see Proclaim folder there. If you can create an exception for the contents of that folder that would be good; otherwise, if you need to select a particular file (Proclaim.exe), please create an exception for the Proclaim.exe file at C:\Users\jeholmes\AppData\Local\Proclaim\System2\.
Please note that the "AppData" folder is hidden. These instructions should suffice to reveal the AppData folder on the version of Windows you are using (even if it isn't explicitly named there) http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/.
Sorry, I'm not terribly techy - when you say firewall, are you referring to the network firewall or firewall on the computer as part of windows defender?I'd have to open a helpdesk ticket to get any network changes. I'm not sure about how to change firewall on the computer/set exceptions, but I can give it a shot. You think the firewall is what is causing it to crash??
Found out we don't use Windows Firewall. We are on a guest network, so there shouldn't be any problem with webfiltering or firewall either as far as I understand.
Twin Towers Music,
I am not part of the Proclaim tech support crew, but am a network and computer specialist and can speak with some degree of expertise. It sounds like you are meeting in a rented space and using the guest WIFI provided by the landlord. Most guest networks isolate connected devices so they cannot see each other; under normal configurations they only allow access to the internet. This could effectively act as a firewall between different devices connected to the guest network. Each device can access the internet, but not each other.
We also meet in a rented space and setup our own network at the facility using our own equipment. The landlord allows us to connect it to their hardwired network which grants us access to their internet, but provides a separate private network with WIFI just for use by our church. We plug it in each Sunday when we use the facility and then take it back down when we leave. You may need to consider doing something similar, but it will depend on a formal agreement with your landlord. I wouldn't consider connecting any equipment into their private network without express written permission.
Thansk for the input. We are not in a rented space. Twin Towers is a retirement community. We own the space and network hardware. We use an open guest network in the chapel as not all programs that take place there are run by staff (I am on staff though).
I have successfully connected to proclaim over the network before the 2.0 upgrade, but didn't not always use the app to control it as coverage was spotty and would often drop off.
The problem is not that I am unable to connect to my device. The problem is that when I go to settings in Proclaim and click on "Enable Wifi Remote," the program completely crashes. Every time. Without fail.
does your router configure it as a guest network? If it does, it may still isolate each computer on that guest network the same way public wifi hotspots do. Mine does. This will cause the crash as well I'm guessing. Can you connect to a password protected network and set up the computer to be discoverable on the network? This might solve the problem.
