What reading plans will you use in 2017?

Each year I try to have a reading plan for something larger than I would normally read. For instance, in 2016, I read through Calvin's Institutes. This year I'm considering approaching the Church Fathers or perhaps reading Barth's Dogmatics.

I continue my journey through Luther's Works (half way through Vol 20), and Old's Reading and Preaching of the Scriptures in the Worship of the Christian Church (recently started Vol 4)

I also have 2 other books (try to rotate through theology, Church Fathers, Pastoral related and current issues), with reading plans assigned - and aim from the 4 reading plans to do about 10 pages each book, each week day. Has worked well for me for a few years now, getting about 50 books a year done (some quite large).

A good one I finished earlier in 2016 was Webber's Library of Christian Worship.

So for me the Logos Reading Plan is one of the vital components, that keeps me focused, and moving through some fabulous works!

I have a plan set up to read the first volume in 60 sessions (one session per weekday) which should finish mid-January and i then plan to go on to the next two

During the first part of the year, I am going to focus on spiritual autobiographies. After that I am undecided.

So far, I'll be doing my default Bible in 6 months with 2 3 month intensive studies and various light studies intermixed. I want to do something a little different this year, but haven't decided yet. Will have to see how the Spirit leads.

I am using Dr. Grant Horner's Bible reading plan.

Timothy J Mott, Sr.

I maintain a queue of 10 reading plans, of about 5 pages each per day minimum. When I finish one, I replace it with another, keeping the queue at 10. They range from 3 years down to 30 days on different subjects, so that I don't get bored, and one is always a textbook for my Doctor of Theology degree program. I REALLY hammer one book of the Bible with a technical commentary, a more general background commentary, and textbook on word studies for the current book that I am studying in depth (right now, both the Gospel of John and Romans). I include a theological journal, systematic Theology, church history, a book on discipleship (such as improving my prayer life), and of course a good study Bible (currently Sproul's Reformation Study Bible in the ESV). If there are any empty slots left in my queue, then I just find something short that catches my eye. With over 3,200 Logos resources, I will never run out of reading material!

50 pages a day may not sound like much, but this is just my minimum, and that adds up to over 18,000 pages each year!

That actually sounds pretty impressive to me. I do like your idea of having a queue of reading plans.

And, by the way, welcome to the forums. I hope you take time to participate more in the future.
