What books are you going to be reading in 2017 that you can't purchase in Logos format.
For me I'm reading the following two print books:
The Mosaic of Christian Belief: https://books.google.com.au/books?id=rGMKbaNIjIoC
The Story of Christian Theology: https://books.google.com.au/books?id=zexBAwAAQBAJ

Saving God's Face: A Chinese Contextualization of Salvation through Honor and Shame by Jackson Wu

I want to compare Chinese culture to Jesus' times + I have Chinese friends. This book will expand my horizons.
Excellent question, doc!
The Historical Reliability of the New Testament: Countering the Challenges to Evangelical Christian Beliefs by Craig Blomberg is first on my 2017 reading list

That sounds like an excellent read. Scooter, I hope if provides you with some new insights for relating to your friends.
I'm going to read The Great Spiritual Migration by Brian McLaren which my church's book discussion group is starting to work through in January. I bought it in Kindle format and then also bought the hardcover since it's hard to do a book group discussion with a Kindle book. Hard to jump to the page matching the print edition, or flip through pages looking for something you vaguely remember reading on a certain side of the page.
Great question DOC. I will cheat, since I don't necessarily keep a list of what I will read into the future... I am currently reading a book which I will likely finish just into the new year which I can heartily recommend: The Secret Game: A Wartime Story of Courage, Change, and Basketball's Lost Triumph by Scott Ellsworth. I am not a "basketball fan" per se, but I am a sports fan in general. This book deals with sports, race relations, and what it means to be a Christ follower.
Among others,
Two books that I'll be reading in January
1. Destroyer of the Gods by Larry Hurtado
2. The Day the Revolution Began by N.T. Wright
Of course I would rather be reading both on Logos. This highlights the biggest gripe I have with Logos. New books are released several months/years after publication.

I'm about half way through Tom's Revolution, and will probably read Larry's Destroyer later in the year.
On my List
Josephus
Josiphon
Casius Dio
Sueton
Tacitus
Apostolic Fathers as well
Sorenson: An Introduction to the Modern Middle East: History, Religion, Political Economy, Politics
Kuhn: Fresh Vision for the Muslim World
Hoskins: A Muslim's Mind
Fisher: Rome and the Arabs Before the Rise of Islam
I will be reading this puppy. It's actually written by a baptist who makes a case against mechanical instrumental music in worship. I'm sure it won't be anything new but I'm interested on what I baptist has to say about not using instrumental music. I know many of the reformers didn't agree with the use of instrumental music during worship (e.g. John Calvin, John Wesley, Adam Clark, etc.). DAL Ps. Old light on new worship -- musical instruments in the worship of God. A theological, historical and psychological study by John Price. I was going to post a picture of the book but my mobile device is not giving me the option to attach anything right now.
I read that book. I thought it was pretty good.
Isn't that puppy $99?

I can read a lot of Must Read Logos books for that. But now I am aching to read that puppy book.
Temple - Robert Cornuke

Since LOGOS or VYRSO does not have any of his books, I will be doing quite a bit of reading elsewhere.
I see we have similar reading interests Enjoy good sir.
I will be reading outside of Logos from the Everyman's library classics.
I'm reading Surprised by Joy by C. S. Lewis. I've wanted to read it for a long time and decided it is still going to be a long time before I see it in Logos (if ever).
Bruce, If you do not have a good working knowledge of classical literature avoid getting bogged down in Lewis' frequent reference to other works. Just skim over them. As long as you get the jest of what he is saying you will be ok. I was amazed at the amount of literature from which he can draw references.

Making Sense of God: An Invitation to the Skeptical Hardcover by Timothy Keller
And yesterday I purchased Hidden Christmas: The Surprising Truth Behind the Birth of Christ by Timothy Keller
It's a pain that Logos has been so slow at getting Keller's books.
I'll be reading in January (...) The Day the Revolution Began by N.T. Wright Of course I would rather be reading (...) on Logos.

Same here - in fact I'll continue to read, started in early December or so.
I have not found it that bad so far but thanks for the advice.
These are the top 10 on my 'to-read' list that aren't in Logos:
Slogging Along in the Paths of Righteousness: Psalms 13–24
hm. https://vyrso.com/product/130415/slogging-along-in-the-paths-of-righteous

Thankyou :-).
They seem to like their own publisher very much - but you should check out Vyrso more thoroughly, at least https://vyrso.com/product/39275/a-theology-for-christian-education is available
thanks for the hint! I searched for each title at logos.com, but didn't search the Vyrso site.

The coupon code is "christmas" without the quotation marks.
"The Climax of The Covenant" by N.T. Wright This is a fascinating book by a great author. I usually read it once a year, and have done so for the past 10 years. Each time I get more out of it.
Cynthia, Thanks so much for the heads up.
Logos has vertical scrolling and that is one of the reasons why I try to avoid Kindle whenever possible. Just wonder whether there are applications/cracks that can overcome the non-scrolling problem?
These are the top 10 on my 'to-read' list that aren't in Logos: Protestant Patriarch: The Life Of Cyril Lucaris, 1572-1638, Patriarch Of Constantinople
An interesting figure. Amazon's reviews of this book are illuminating.
Indeed. I presume the truth lies somewhere in between. It's hard to find anyone outside of Orthodoxy agreeing with the Orthodox perspective espoused in your link. (See the Encylopaedia Britannica article, for example.)
One of my Logos resources sums him up like this: "In 1629 he produced an Eastern Confession of the Christian Faith in eighteen chapters, in which he blended Eastern Orthodoxy with a mild Calvinism. On the doctrines of the Trinity and the person of Jesus Christ he kept to the Orthodox dogmas. But he took advantage of the silence of official Orthodox pronouncements to introduce leading Protestant doctrines."
Ian H. Murray, Archibald G. Brown; Spurgeon's Successor
Wilhelmus à Brakel, The Christian's Reasonable Service (Logos does sell the English translation but I prefer to read this book in Dutch).
