Create a list of people in the bible in order of importance?

How could I create a list of people in the bible in order of importance?

Has it already been done?

What criteria would I use to determine their importance?

The reason for doing this would be to do character studies of the most important people, book by book

Whatever criteria you use, if it doesn't have Jesus at the top, it's wrong!

But there's no criteria you can really use. Below first place, it's surely subjective. The best you could do would be to use the concordance to list mentions of all the people in a Bible by count - but there will only be a loose association between count and importance.

I think you'd have to go with Eve, as #2. Adam couldn't have kids, and that'd be the end of that. Even Paul admitted Eve was absolutely critical to his argument.

IDK...God didn't need a man for Mary, so he probably could have found a way around that. What defines a person? If its just them talking then I vote Balaam's donkey as ranking high on the list.
