Bulletins: No way to skip past events to get to the present?

I returned today to the church bulletin tool after looking at it last August.  

When I tried to add events I ran into a problem.

Back in August I had created recurring events such as Sunday School 9:00am-10:00am and then had not created bulletins in the mean time.

Now I tried to create events and all I can see is August 2016 dated Sunday school (and other) events.  It is a recurring event, shouldn't I be seeing January 2017 events now?
