Pastor? Church Leader? Faithlife is building engagement tools...
We have been inviting pastors near our office to visit and help us learn how to better serve them.
Logos Bible Software helps with sermon preparation, but that's just part of a pastor's job. Many pastors tell us that they want engagement: they want to see the people in their church engage with the Word and with each other.

I have two simple requests as a pastor how you could help me out best. It's not new features or development in the software:
1. Hire/Improve/Create a QA department. What good is a program that prides itself on being connected when so many hyperlinks are not working or not created. This happens in brand products, something I can't even begin to fathom. Formatting is another source of frustration, again if you see other's posts in the forums, you will see many other instances of this.
2. I know this one isn't solely on your shoulders, but what I need are the resources I request. If we could have more communication about this or a graph on a page (similar to PP) that tells us its been requested, denied, processing, etc.. that would be good too.

In my 30 years of attending church as an adult, I have observed busy lives. People do not engage mentally or spiritually, with a deep level of trust. We wear masks that hide our pain. We are scared to open up. We get at best 3 hours of interaction a week. Author Richard Swenson has written several books on how busy we are. ("Margin", and "The Overload Syndrome").
Why do we sacrifice our relationships pursuing a 2500 Sq Ft homes, and two new vehicles with payments that stretch our budgets beyond breaking points? It is amazing that I was raised in a family of 7 living in a 900 sq. ft. house. Just look at your church parking lot. If all of the vehicles appear to be 3 years old and newer, there may be many members struggling financially. I bring up these points because I believe they drastically hinder relationships in our church family. I know, because I have/am living it.
I applaud the effort to offer Mobile Ed video training at a deep discount to congregations. Sadly, I do not think the average lay church goer would even take advantage of a free modest FaithLife study library to do their Sunday School lessons. Most look at their lesson when they sit down in class.
We need another Great Re-Awakening, because we are the Lukewarm Church.
(Please don't take my words as a judgement on anyone. They are just an expression of my observations. I know everything is possible with God.)

Dear Bob,
I am on my way to becoming bivocational, and as mentioned in previous posts above, I would urgently recommend a QA department in your company that is effective.
I invest a lot into Faithlife (just see my purchases!), but it is so disappointing to find so many mistakes/typos/errors in the resources I use. Sometimes hyperlinks link to the wrong resources. Bible text hyperlinks link to the wrong part of the Bible. Basic seminary texts like Mounce's Basics of Biblical Greek have grammatical errors in it in crucial places (just check the typo reports I sent each time I spot one ... but have since given up because there are several). This forum reports several examples of poor QA input.
In a nutshell, I would greatly appreciate an improvement of the quality of the resources I purchased. This would spur us on to invest more into FL.

I agree with all those who have posted on this thread about quality control and already existing problems requiring attention. But for that to ever happen FL does need to continue to expand their baseline income and a set of subscription based set of tools like Bob is raising here is one way to do that. I do have concerns these projects become their own funding black hole but if FL do nothing then we will have more to complain about than just poor hyperlinks. For me personally I have no interest in these tools but I do hope those for whom they might be of assistance do take Bob up on his offer to get involved because I hope projects like this do lead to FL being in a position to put more effort into fixing existing issues, which will benefit all of us.

After reading the initial feedback on this thread, it seems like one possible action step might be to create a User Voice page dedicated specifically to tagging. Rather than users submitting feature requests, let us suggest specific resources that could benefit from specific tagging improvements. Example - Resource X should show up in Passage Guide, Factbook, etc. Users could then vote to give Faithlife an idea of what to prioritize, and there would be a mechanism for Faithlife to comment on suggestions or post status updates. Yes, I know this method would target specific concerns whereas many on this thread are citing a more general, widespread problem, but I am simply putting this forward as a place to start. Thanks Bob for all your hard work. Looking forward to what Faithlife has in store for us in the new year!
