Reading non-Bible books by chapter

Hi there,

I'm relatively new to Logos and am really enjoying it, but am trying to figure out if it can help me with something. I would like to read a systematic theology (specifically by Boice), but can't figure out how to set up a reading plan that would allow me to read it by chapter.

Tried the wiki pages, but can't get anything beyond by block of pages.

Is there anything I can do?

You can do this but it takes a bit of work - you need to set up a Custom Reading Plan.

For your specific case I would:

Open the Reading Plan menu (left-hand side of the Documents menu) and choose "Custom Reading Plan"

I've named it "Boice - Systematic Theology"

Also open a copy of the resource in a separate panel and its easier if the Table of Contents is open

Then - with your mouse - "click and drag" to select a portion of the resource you want to read

Then "drag" the highlighted section to the "Drag a shortcut here" area of the Reading Plan panel

which gives you:

Choose the day you want - click on the link currently showing "today" - and then click "Add Session"

Repeat until you have all the segments defined.

Then click the "Done" button

It seems complicated but it is actually very easy to do and doesn't take long to do it.

Sascha John, it depends upon whether you want to ensure that it breaks on chapters or if you are satisfied with simple equal lengths.

My personal experience is that the only way is as Graham suggests. If you try in in the way you would expect to be able to do it you end up cutting off each day half way though a sentence. It seems a little cumbersome but it is worth the effort if you want to break the book up logically.
