Notes no longer link to verse

I've noticed that on my android devices notes do not hyperlink to the verse where they were created like they used to.  It doesn't matter whether I create the note with "Attach to Reference" or not.

I used to be able to click on the reference in the note list and jump to that verse, but now the reference doesn't show in the list at all, so I can only open or delete the note.  Even if I open a note that was "Attached to Reference", the reference does show but I can't click it to go to that verse.  On my Win10 PC (running Logos 6) the links for all my notes do display and do work properly.

I use notes to create bookmarks for sermons and different reading I do, so it's a problem that I can't go to the verse from the notes anymore.

I noticed there have been several posts about this as far back as August 2016.  Is there any status on this issue?  Is there an open bug report?

Thanks

    Hi Bill,

There is already a case for this issue but we don't have an ETA for when it will be fixed.

Ok, thanks for the confirmation.  I really hope the development team will get to this soon!  It's been a problem (unfortunately one of many) since at least August 2016 ver 5.4.

FYI for anyone else with this issue:  I've loaded an older version on my tablet that does not suffer from this issue - ver5.3, available in the play store here (ironically, this is supposed to be a pre-release app to let us view/test new versions alongside the production version - no need to uninstall the current one).  It just became too frustrating not being able to go to the scripture for any of my notes, esp those I've set as bookmarks.   I'll post more info here if I experience other issues with this old version, but on my Android 6 tablet so far it seems ok.

They've now pulled this older version ('Bible vNext') from the play store.

    Temporary Workaround for New Notes:

Today I realized we can manually create hyperlinks to verses in our notes, so we could do this as a workaround for the Notes not linking to the reference problem.  It won't help with existing notes unless you want to edit them all (I certainly won't) but it's not too bad for any new ones.

Create a new Note, then at the beginning of your Note (or where ever you wish the link to be) do the following:

    1. Click the Format Menu icon '...' (top right of screen in the Note)
    2. Enter the reference to the verse under the 'HYPERLINK' label
    3. Click 'back' (on your phone/tablet)
    4. If entered correctly this will add the reference to the verse as a hyperlink in the text of the Note
(if nothing was added to the Note text then you didn't enter a reference Logos recognized - so, try again)
    5. Click 'Done' to save the Note as usual

When viewing the Note from the Documents List (or anywhere else) this reference can be clicked to open or jump to that verse.
I guess that's not too bad as a workaround (for new Notes anyway).

    Hope this is helpful!

    Hello Kevin

It's February 24th 2018 I've been very well affected too by this issue, I will continue to be patient. Do you know if it's still being worked on.

    Thank you

Welcome to the forums. You have accidentaly posted in an archived forum. You should post again in a new thread in the Mobile Reader Apps forum.
