iPad Pro 12.9 and Logos Apps?
Do all the Logos (Faithlife, Vyrso, Verbum, Bible+, Biblia) Apps work on the iPad Pro 12.9?
I haven't quite figured out how the Faithlife Study group for the Precepts PUP hosted by David Arthur works, but I prefer to use my iPad and I think the iPad Pro 12.9 the screen will split so I can have the Bible+ App open on one side and Safari opened to Faithlife.com while David hosts, but I really don't know how this all works.
I do like that I can type my answers directly into the PUP Philippians book in the Logos App, book offered for free in November.
The Study starts Jan 15 and orientation Jan 9-13.
Thanks for your help with this iPad Pro 12.9

The Logos app supports Split View, so you can also have Safari open as the second app.
Just swipe left from the right edge of the screen, then drag the app divider to make both apps active at the same time.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I know how to split the Logos App to have two books open within the Logos App side by side.
I know how to split the ipad pro 12.9" screen to have two Apps open at the same time.
I am or was about to purchase the iPad Pro 12.9" but yesterday in my research I read that there are not many Apps available for the 12.9" larger screen. What I want to know is if the Logos App(s) is available to work on the larger screen on the iPad Pro 12.9"
i thought all Apps available for iPad & iPad Mini would be available for the iPad Pro 12.9", but after yesterday's research I read that is not the case. Do you have an iPad Pro 12.9" and use Logos Apps on it?
Thank you.

One of my classmates uses an iPad Pro 12.9. I have the 9.7 iPad Pro. I have another classmate that uses an iPad Mini. When I sit next to either of them and work together I can see no difference in functionality for the iOS version of Verbum (Logos) between the two different sizes of iPad Pro. The person with the Mini has an older generation that does not support split screen, but other than that is seems to have all the same display scaling attributes that the larger iPad's have that I can tell.
The only difference I see in the 12.9 iPad Pro is that person has more screen to work with. Everything in the Verbum (Logos) iOS app appears to scale perfectly to the size of the screen. (As you mention, this is not true for some iOS apps. Some apps do not scale correctly and, hence, do not take advantage of the whole screen.)

Thank you Steve! That is exactly what I wanted to know.
I appreciate all that you shared.

Bev,
I can confirm the Logos Bible app works great on the 12.9 inch iPad Pro.

Thank you for the positive feedback.
Have you used the split screen ie Logos and Safari opened at same time?
Do you use PDF Notes App? I use that alot, but I don't know if it is available for iPad Pro 12.9.
thanks again.

I don't know if it is available for iPad Pro 12.9.
You mentioned above that you have learned that some apps aren't available for the iPad Pro 12.9. Where did you hear that? What is the context? Do you have a specific app you can name? I am unaware of this being the case for any currently available app.

Alabama24,
I use the CVS Pharmacy app (current insurance Rx provider) and it does not scale correctly on my iPad Pro 9.7. Looks great on my iPhone but not on the iPad. Very clunky. I'm thinking that developers need to take into account current iOS display characteristics. I'm not an iOS developer but I recall seeing a number of app updates just after the 12.9 Pro came out that, according to the app update notes, made adjustments for the larger display, working also on the iPhone. I'm sure there are more examples ... I would think in the minority at this point. Having said that, I downloaded the CVS app on my iPad, so it's available. I don't think that was Bev N's concern.
Bev N can speak to her research.

Bev N,
Just downloaded the free version of PDF-Notes on my iPad Pro 9.7. It seems to work fine utilizing the entire screen in both portrait and landscape orientations.
However, it seems that it does not recognize split screen operation thereby resizing itself to accommodate the second application. Example ... I have Verbum (Logos) iOS open as I slide in from the right, but PDF-Notes does not recognize this and continues in full screen mode. I'm not able to move the vertical spilt to place the two apps side by side. Also, when I tap the PDF-Notes app, Verbum (Logos) disappears to the right.
Hmmm... behavior I had not seen before nor did not expect. [:S]
.... you are probing with some very good questions ...

I use the 12.9" iPad Pro with Logos almost daily. Anything you can do on a smaller iPad you will be able to do on the iPad Pro. Functionality is significantly limited compared to the desktop.

I've been using the iPad 12.9 for almost a year. (and iPad Air)
Logos app is working fine, just like on other smaller iPads, no difference.

Steve, Thank you very much, this is exactly the type of situation I had read that could happen with "some" Apps using the 12.9 screen.
I assume Logos & Pages App can be used side by side using the split screen. Then whatever notes entered on Pages I can then use the Pages Send a Copy, choose PDF doc, next popup How to Send, choose PDF Notes. It will automatically Open in PDF Notes, then PDF Notes is on the 12.9 single screen to highlight, attach additional note, write or whatever using the PDF Notes toolbar.

Steve, if Logos and the Side by Side App will appear on the 12.9 split view screen, then I could use Side by Side to watch Kay Arthur with her open Transcript and only split Side by Side in two screens then have Logos next to it easily read/study as Kay teaches. I wouldn't have to split Side by Side App in thirds (LightSource Kay Arthur, Biblia.com, Transcript) making the split windows so small & constantly resize to see.
But Side by Side App may not work (resize itself) in split view screen on iPad Pro 12.9 just like PDF Notes wouldn't. Logos would be so much easier to read next to Side by Side. Side by Side within itself will not split window panes with other Apps, only online browser url.

Bev N,
I think I understand what you are saying - the issue is not with split-screen on Logos, but the potential use of an additional, third, division of the entire screen using a second app like Safari, etc. I understand things can get a little small at that point, but I think that is the trade-off using a tablet.
As for the constraint with PDF-Notes, you may want to consider a different app for that. There are several I can think of that can read PDF files and operate in true split screen (i.e. Notability, OneNote ... others, I'm sure.)
The other consideration is whether you are able to change the font size in the app that you are using for better readability. Maybe there is some accommodation to be made there.
From what device are you posting the screen shots?

Have you considered using iPad Picture-in-Picture video multitasking? It would free up having to split the screen just to play the video, giving you more space for the two apps.
I just tried splitting the screen between Logos and Notes, while also watching a video in the corner of the screen, and everything works fine (on the 9.7 iPad Pro).

Steve, I am using an iPad 4. After looking at the iPad Pro 12.9 I thought that would give the extra real estate to be able use the split view for Logos on one side and Safari (for ex. watching Kay Arthur teaching video), Pages, Notes, etc. on the other side od split view. While in the store using the demo I did use another App to size it to what I would use if it were Logos, then opened Safari, Notes, Pages next to it and there was plenty room for my use.
I have been using Side by Side App to split the screen since iPad 4 does not have the capability of Split View for Apps like the Pro 12.9. Side by Side App virtually creates a desktop to have video, Logos books (via Biblia.com) and Transcript all opened at the same time. If I bought the iPad Pro 12.9 the screen would be large enough to do a Study comfortably & ease the eye strain while having multiple panes open.
But in doing my research and discovering not ALL Apps have the capability of resizing to utilize the split view on iPad Pro 12.9 is what prompted my original post.
After reading replies to this post I'm more confident the iPad Pro 12.9 will work for my intended use other than PDF Notes (I have years & years of Transcripts, Notes, etc in PDF Notes), but I can get by with not having PDF Notes in the Split View as long as Pages is capable of being split with Logos. Within Pages I'll Send the document I create in a PDF doc to Open in PDF Notes to refer to withour split view on the screen. I think PDF Notes will eventually have the capabilty to resize in Split View on the iPad Pro 12.9 because of the changes they have continued to make since I started using it with an iPad 2.
Now, I need to decide to have WiFi or WiFi/Cellular iPad Pro 12.9; Best Buy AT&T will not put their Sim card in an Apple iPad Pro 12.9 bought from Apple. Not knowing my future location I want cellular, but do not want to commit to one specific carrier but I do want the capabilty of cellular once I am settled and know which carrier is best to use in the area I am located at. The cellular sim card is built in on 9.7 but different on the 12.9 that has the Apple Sim Card capable of choosing ATT, Sprint, or Tmobile, or GigSky, etc but not Verizon except by additional Verizon Sim Card.
Thanks for all your input and making my purchase much easier.

PetahC, I don't think my iPad 4 has the capabilty you are using on iPad 9.7, but once I have made my informed purchase of iPad Pro 12.9 that should. Thanks for the tip!

I bought the Wi-Fi version of the 9.7 Pro because I also have an iPhone. When I need connectivity outside a Wi-Fi hotspot I just tether it to my iPhone. It's not that often that I do that do that so it's not big use of data for me ... very little really. I have AT&T as well but you may be able to do that with other carriers as well.

I would like to read about it anymore. Prompt, what literature to study?
