Question on highlighting

I have a question on highlighting.  I have been reading a book on my ipad and highlighting it there, and the highlights are carrying over to my computer no problem.  However, on my computer I have the highlights set to make a separate note document for each book that I do any highlighting in and this is not carrying over.  Is there something I need to tweak in the settings on my ipad to do this, or will this note document not carry over from the ipad to my computer?  The highlights are showing up as separate "files" for each book on my ipad as well.  Can these files sync someway?

Hi Alan - and welcome to the forums.

Highlight destinations are handled slightly different on desktop and mobile - on desktop they are done at the palette level while on mobile they are at the app level.

I think - from what you describe - that you have highlighting palettes on the desktop set to use "resource-specific note file". Is that correct? And if you don't know how to check this please advise.

Then check in the Tools-> Settings area of the mobile app and see what setting you have for "Document for Highlights".

Once we know how these are set we should be able to work out what needs to be done to get you to where you want to be.

If any of this doesn't make sense please post back and advise
