Presentation Mode Suggestion

I routinely use Logos 4 in the classroom at the Bible institute where I teach. Primarily I use it to project a bible text or word study up on the screen for our students to see. I currently do this by toggling between PowerPoint with my class slides and Logos 4 with the Bible text in a single window layout mode. It would be great if Logos had a "presenter mode" similar to PowerPoint that allowed you to present one window on a secondary monitor such as a projector while at the same time viewing all your other open Logos resources in a different layout on the computer. This feature would make it a lot more simple for me as a teacher to view resources and personal notes on the primary monitor (laptop computer) and only have the students view one logos window on the secondary monitor (projector). Is this a feature that you could implement in the future. I think it would also help "sell" the versatility of Logos 4 to our students and congregations if it was easier to use in a presenter mode.

Here is a video showing how I use Logos in my classroom. You could keep your notes to yourself in the PowerPoint instead of putting them in the Logos. That way all your "teacher only" notes would be in one place and related to the subject at hand.
This also has the advantage of allowing you to go directly to when you want to go in Logos instead of having to key it into Logos each time you switch over. You will spend less time running Logos in class and more time on the content. Yet once in Logos you can go anywhere, do anything you want. To me it is the best of both worlds.
I had a representative from a Bible College accrediting association in my classroom on this past Friday. He loved what I was doing.
By the way, the repeated displays of the Logos splash screen are scheduled to go away in version 4.0d.

Thank you for pointed your video out to me. I was wondering how to do that and this is a good work around for what I would like to do. I do have another problem... I am currently running Logos 4 Alpha 18 for Mac and this option doesn't seem to be available and I can't find any discussion on it. Maybe I am missing something obvious but the copy url option is not available when I right click the book icon. I will do some more searching. Maybe since the Mac version is still in alpha development the hyperlinks will change later and Logos has disabled that feature. Any thoughts on that would be helpful.

You might want to post something to the Logos 4 Mac forum. I have never used a Mac, so I can not be much help with it.
One word of caution. When I first starting using Logos in the classroom, I found myself spending too much time navigating through Logos. This had a negative impact on the quality of the Bible teaching. The learners focused on Logos not the biblical or theological course content. That is why I prefer doing the navigation and discover beforehand and simply linking to what I found in class. I then navigate around Logos in response to questions from the class. I run a hyperactive - er interactive classroom. So I do some navigation in the class sessions, but generally only in response to questions.
I do plan to offer "Using Logos" sessions outside the curiculum, maybe as a sort of a "brown bag lunch."

I left an email for macsupport@logos.com. I am hoping they will get back to me. The only discussion I could find is with the older power tools options in Libronix where you had to check that feature to turn it on.
I have been using Logos in the classroom for a couple years now and have been toggling between Powerpoint (in mirror display mode) and my resources in Logos. I have it down to a science and it works pretty well except I would agree it can be a bit slower and more prone to typing in the wrong reference when you are doing it on the fly as opposed to preparing ahead.
Thanks again!

Logos Mac Support wrote to me and said the option is not available yet but will be released with future updates.

Quick question. Do you have to have the files open or will LOGOS open them for you?

Logos will open them for you.
However the transition is a faster if you have them already open. I have a layout that has my most common resources already open. I load this layout when setting up for class. If I have linked to a resource that is not open, then Logos will open it for me.

Could this be a way to get what you want?

Here is a link to Microsoft on how to disable that message. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925757 This is for Office 2007 only. If you are using another version then search the Microsoft support site for the message.
A friend of mine found a utility on the internet that did it for him. I do not know where he got it.
