Thanks, Kevin. (Note typo (power) on first line and on the second line in the Logos Now section (my).) You also suggest in that last section that a new version comes out each fall. They have been coming out every other year in the fall.
You took a big job on and did well with it. Thanks for asking for our input and letting us see the finished product.

Kevin ... nice. Near the end, I was ready to compare the 5 software packages, but no link? Or I misunderstood.
So, I ended up reading your other articles. One older one caught my eye: http://churchtechtoday.com/2014/02/26/tech-growth/ Plus I notice Logos brags to churches it can report who reads the church letter. Really makes you wonder (not criticising; just non-plus'd).

Good job Kevin

Thanks for pointing this out Kevin. I have enjoyed reading your reviews.

Thanks Kevin. I always like your writing. Did not know about this site.

Great article Kevin.
What would you recommend to make it more attractive to a devotional user?
Perhaps Logos could develop a new but smaller package to more effectively target this group.

I believe that the free Logos Base Engine is a better e-reader than any other free e-reader software, largely because of multiple tabs allowing multiple books to be open and linked, and because footnotes are popups rather than links to a separate page (Kindle, I'm looking at you!).
A library of tradition-specific devotional resources, coupled with the Base Engine, would be a great offering for devotional use. Call it "Logos Basic" and market it directly to churches.
I wonder whether the Starter Libraries, without the Starter Feature Set, would fit that bill, or would those libraries be overkill for the purpose...

Thanks. I enjoyed it and you video showing me a thing or two I did not know.

Well done Kevin...way to share knowledge of how to study God's Word more closely and share it.[:)]
Would love to see you now do a follow up on which affordable powerful Windows based Tablets (supposedly in decline) run Logos 7.x the best in your opinion.

As a long-time User, I find all the various Logos offerings a bit overwhelming / confusing these days. Perhaps address Logos Cloud too in your article?

Thanks for all the positive feedback and for the constructive feedback. I will go look at typos and such.
Church Tech Today is a fine site run by a wonderful lady Lauren Hunter. She does a great job and really respects her writers so I hope you will all check it out more. Since Christian Computing Magazine was bought and then the later changed to Ministry Tech Magazine, it has become less useful and I probably won't be writing there anymore or much more. Last months edition had only a few articles. I wasn't able to get one in due to holiday constraints.
I enjoy using Logos, WORDsearch, Accordance and occasionally a few others like Olive Tree and Bibleworks on my laptop. I don't enjoy it for devotional reading as much, but I do so. I think others make devotional reading more enjoyable and that's why I don't recommend Logos to anyone who never plans to do the more in depth Bible study that Logos is great at. I think YouVersion's Bible app on a smaller Android tablet or iPad mini is the best experience followed by Olive Tree. However, if I'm using Logos for my other study then I use it for devotions too. That way my highlights and devotional notes appear next to my sermon and Bible study prep notes.
To each his own so the saying goes.
Again thanks for the positive feedback.

I think they already have what they need with the Vyrso app. If they put more devotional reader features front and center in that app. They already market it as more of a Christian Living Ebook reader. Make it a great devotional app too by letting us create devotional readings in the app, something you can't really do in the mobile apps now I don't think. Or at least make them sharable inside the app. Take a app first focus for that part of the bible reading population since most people do their daily bible reading on a mobile device instead of a computer.

I didn't mention it due to space. It's not a good option IMO and seems like Logos doesn't really promote it much anymore anyway. Taking my cue from them I ignored it. I wouldn't recommend it so if I included it in the article I'd say, "don't bother" and why put negative feedback when most don't even know it exists. They have to want it and go looking for it at Logos.com.

That's a great topic. May best fit Theotek Podcast than Church Tech Today.
I found this link: http://www.pcmag.com/roundup/310159/the-best-windows-tablets
If you scroll down and look for the Processor in that table, find the ones that have intel Core processors. They should all handle Logos 7 adequately or better.
